I think they're pretty much designs from the animators mind. While some styling cues look like they reference one car, other parts of that car don't match up. Roof angles and glass shapes don't match anything either. I suggest to make them using your best guess. Who'll agrue?

Anybody heard anything more about the VW Type 2 Transporter Snap Kit that they were going to release?

If that's true, how come they never reissued the Stingray era Vette with the flying buttress back window? I sure would like to see it back! I have a feeling many of the parts from the 77 were updated to the 78, except the small block, seats, glass and whatever was different from 77. But I can't be sure as I don't have any 77 MPC annual Corvettes. The 75 roadster has been reissued a few times. Did that one come from the same tool?

Might be easier to use the right diameter wire, with or without insulation. Easier to find and keeps it's shape after it's bent.

That's why I'm glad when people can see what realism is possible when building cars and trucks. Not bashing anyone for building military or aircraft. I appreciate the effort that it takes to create realistic miniatures - whatever the genre.

Not harsh, I've been in conversations with "rivet counting" military modelers and some commented that "cars are easy, lots of kids build them". I get amused when they try to apply a smooth gloss paint job, though.

Like the the other "star" cars in this movie, that Camaro was soooo drool worthy. Sad what happened to it.

Actually, I almost commented that the scale of the branches is what gave it away. But the depth and smoothness of the paint finish on the car give it it's realism!

These are currently available on Ebay. I was unaware that the artist passed away, so that would make these rare in the future (if not already). Does anybody know if he produced multiples of these or are they truly "one of a kind". Either way, they sure are interesting! I especially like the "Mayberry Sheriffs Squad Car" - avoiding royalties by not including that comedian's name! Does anybody here own any of his boxes? If not, here's your chance!

I sure wouldn't use Rustoleum enamels as my primer or base color paint. It's just too thick and uncontrollable for model cars. Although I do use their clear lacquer on top of automotive touch up paint (also lacquer) and there it works great!

I always had a hard time taking these things seriously. Flight of fancy designs, cheap looking wheels and tire treads that say AMT don't impress me much. Glad to see you've figured out how to make a "silk purse" from them!

That color does fit this vehicle, looks EXACTLY like the color they used back then! Could use some "Gold Duster" decals for a finishing touch.

Mike, be aware that the shape of the front grilles are different between 68 and 69. 1968 1969 Pretty sure the taillights are too, but I haven't figured out the difference between 67, 68 and 69.
