That should be it for paint.🥵 I added some more Metallic Black to the mix. Once this is good and dry I can clean the paint off the script and foil the rest of the trim.- 141 replies

One thing I like to do is install pins in very tiny parts like door handles, and mirrors, usually with 0.020” brass rod before any painting. Any tiny wire will work really. Other parts like starters etc., I may use larger styrene rod if they don’t have nice locating points. If I have enough tiny parts to be painted let’s say…gloss black, I will spray them. But I wouldn’t load the airbrush to paint one starter. I have no problem brush painting small parts.

Got the first coat of paint on. I hope the next coat darkens it up substantially or I may have to add more black. I previously filled the hood cut-out with styrene and Tamiya thin cement and didn’t sand the outside sufficiently.😕 So I’ve stripped it, sanded it and re-primed it. Hopefully today I can get it re-painted. Thanks for lookin’.😎 Foiled the script too before laying down any paint.- 141 replies

I enlarged the rear window slightly and managed to make a rear window and a windsheild from clear plastic. I will eventually remake them, but at least I know I don’t need to vacu-form something.🙂 I also made a firewall and attached it and the interior to the floorpan. I can fish the whole assembly in and out of the body shell relatively easy, so now I can work on the two assemblies independently. I need to do a bit more shaping of the trans tunnel and then fill the voids with Milliput. Thanks for looking.🤓

Probably half the kits in my stash. -

Evergreen. I have a fairly good stock of sizes and shapes. Yesterday I picked up four more packs just because I don’t have them. I’m sure I’ll find a use for them eventually.😬 -

CA Glue and Accelerator Question
NOBLNG replied to Tom Geiger's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Research is always a good idea, but don’t get hung up on trying to make your first build (or every build) perfect. Just enjoy the process and try to improve a bit with each project. -
WIP? I think you could slap a plate on it and call it beautifully done!😎👍

On to the next project I go without finishing the five I have started.🥴

I’ve been away for the last week Bob, but now I’m back at it. I’ve been fiddling with the tail lights trying to get them to fit nicely. The front turn signal lights don’t fit great either. I had painted the headliner black but today I sanded most of the black off and brush painted it red like the interior. I hope to get some paint on the body either tomorrow or Sunday.- 141 replies

Revell '39 Chevy hood fitment
NOBLNG replied to dragstk's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
This is not the same kit and the hood is obviously a different molding, but it fit together ok if I recall. There is a small gap between the body and running boards. I agree that your grill is not properly placed, and the front of the hood should likely be lowered till the sides meet the fenders. -
I’m seeing some pretty cool mockups! I’ll follow along.😎
