  1. Cool! Looking good Jeff.šŸ˜Ž
  2. Gas, grass or something else….nobody rides for free.šŸ¤“
  3. There is a spare tire included, and the trunk lid was only partially attached, so I cut it open and am currently obsessed with trying to make some operating hood hinges for it. I don’t like the one-piece exposed hinges that can only be attached to the hood and trunk lid. I’ve tried a number of different methods, but they are so tiny that it’s pretty difficult.😬 I think I have it beat now, but I have to wait for more 0.016ā€ drill bits to arrive, cause I’ve snapped all of mine. I first tried using some ear ring parts from Michaels, then a couple of brass versions. This is where I lost of most of my bits.šŸ˜• Now I am working with some 0.04ā€x0.062ā€ aluminum bar. They will be a little larger than scale. But at least they will work. The little chrome thing between my brass ones is the kit piece.😳 They are delicate little things even on the 1:1.
  4. I picked this one up at the flea market for $15. It is a super tiny little vehicle…here it is next to a Mazda MX-5. They are both 1/24 scale.😳 It was barely started thankfully so I was able to disassemble it fairly easily. I wasn’t intending to do a build thread so I don’t have a lot of progress pics…not that there’s much to see….so fast forward, the 2cylinder flat, aircooled engine is done and the chassis is completed. The bumperettes have some wicked sink marks, so I stripped the chrome and puttied them up. Thanks for lookin’. All comments welcome.
  5. CA will also react with cotton (Q-Tips) and maybe wool. It will heat up and produce fumes that can adhere to fingerprints on your fresh paint job. Law enforcement sometimes uses this method for highlighting fingerprints.
  6. Bob Smith Industries (BSI) also makes a Super-Gold version of CA that won’t fog clear parts. It is also available in a medium and thin viscosity.
  7. Once the parts are painted, you are pretty much limited to CA, epoxy or PVA for glue. Any solvent glues will destroy the paint finish. Stuff like engine block, heads, oil pan, water pump all get assembled and painted as a unit. Same with some suspension components.
  8. I’ll have to look in the garage Dennis. Right now I am cutting the small leftover piece up to make some hinges. I can easily get some more if I don’t have any. BTW, Lee Valley stocks the orange thin slot one, but they aren’t cheap.🄓
  9. Fantastic work Steve! I’m sure Roger would be impressed as am I.šŸ˜Ž
  10. Rudge wheels are a feature that I added to my Mercedes Gullwing.
  11. Great work Ismael.šŸ‘ That engine is a thing of beauty…it’s almost a shame to put a hood over it.šŸ˜Ž
  12. Check out this build in the Nascar section. I think the air cleaner is not used with the supercharger option. https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/198510-64-mercury-marauder-amt/
  13. Round about now I’m going to have to go out and fire up the snowblower.
  14. Releases of new model kits don’t come frequently enough.
  15. Got about 5cm of snow last night.
  16. Here’s one I’ve just finished using the fisher 12port head from the AMT ā€˜51 Chevy kit. I scratch built the exhaust header and did a little detailing.
  17. It sure is!šŸ˜Ž But….what a difference a day makes.
  18. Laundry list of things I gotta do seems to get longer and longer.šŸ˜•
  19. The one on the right I got from Amazon. The chuck is huge on it and makes it difficult to see what you’re doing with really tiny drill bits. I’d get the one from MicroMark or similar.
  20. NYUCK, NYUCK,NYUCK is a silly sounding laugh.
  21. Boring holes through 1/32ā€ square brass stock I find challenging.
  22. Nice alternative to having the box so small that everything has to be arranged in perfect order to get it all back in without crushing something.
