  1. Thanks, they are ear-ring making parts from michaels. I also fixed the trailer hitch. I didn't like the little nub of plastic they give you for a ball, so I chucked a finishing nail in my drill and shaped it a bit with a file. A touch of molotow and it looks better.
  2. This is what I used because I have it. The amber itself is too yellow. I put a little of each in a bottle cap and keep dragging a little orange into the mix until it looks right. The apricot would be a lot cheaper if you don't already have other stuff.
  3. Outstanding! Which kit is this?
  4. I got the glass and the interior installed. The windshield gave me a bit of grief, it doesn't really have a sweet spot that it sits in nicely so I have a slight gap at the top on the passenger side. Luckily the cab overhang hides it pretty well. I used regular cement, as I don't think the clear parts cement I have would hold it in place. Also managed to get the bed decal in and tailgate on.
  5. I Like it! You need a better spot for the spare tire though.
  6. Thank You for taking the time to do that. I for one really enjoy seeing your quality work! it is an inspiration for sure. Greg.
  7. My pet peeve is that Testors makes the printing so small on their paints that you can't read the colors.
  8. It looks like JUNK! And I LIKE it! Other than no cover over the transmission I see nothing that makes me think it would be unsafe. It even has roll hoops which makes me think the builder has some sort of an eye towards safety. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and just because something is perceived as ugly doesn't make it unsafe. Practical...definitely not!
  9. Maybe the moderators should put a sticky in the introduce yourself section that tells newcomers to ASK for feedback in their posts if they are interested in advancing their skills and talents. Most of the members here are very willing and capable of offering constructive help in a non-threatening way if asked.
  10. Maybe there should be a special section for professional or competition builds where everything is expected to be perfect. I personally see things that I don't like or would change on some models, but if I don't have anything nice to say I don't reply. I don't know if the builder has full dexterity and eyesight. Some folks have OCD, some don't. Now if the builder has asked for opinions, that's different. That said, I would encourage everyone to search the tips and tricks section.
  11. Nice build! My Buddy used to have a '92 NA. Thanks to him, I bought myself a '13 NC PRHT. I LOVE it! It is a real blast to drive.
  12. Saw this parked at the local Partsource. I wish I'd gone and talked to him about it. Gives me an idea for a build!
  13. Thanks Guys. I think I will Just discard it and add a breather on the valve cover. Yes, the quality does not look to be the best. I will likely fab my own distributor for these engines.
  14. I need something to do while paint and glue dries, so I bought this kit for $5.00. It is complete except for the headlights. The nicest thing about it is that it comes with two complete engines, a 428 and a 351. I am not sure if the 351 is a Cleveland or a Windsor? I have googled both and 1969 Mustang engines and cannot find anything resembling part # 35. Does anybody know what is supposed to be? Thanks, Greg.
  15. Beautiful! I like the color. Were the wooden bed rails in the kit, or did you fab those? The grain on them and the bed are awesome.
  16. Hello Darren. Hold your phone sideways (landscape), button on the right, when you take the photos. They should come out correct. Also, taking photos straight down or at a steep angle confuses the phone sometimes. Greg. P.S. Interesting build!
  17. Superb work! I love how the wheels turned out. Are the exhaust pipes done with the Molotow chrome also?
  18. Who makes this kit? I have been thinking of getting the Revell Wrangler Rubicon kit. Is this from the same moulding?
  19. Nice job! I bought a 1980 Blazer once and I don't think there was even that much paint left under the hood.
  20. Glass mouldings are done. I was debating whether to do them after the clear, since I want them to be matt. They will be better protected under the clear I think, and I can always give them a coat of flat clear later. I will let all this paint dry well before I attempt to clear it.
  21. I've got the basic paint job done. I still need to clear it and do the trim etc. I also re-painted the bottom of the cab section that was attached to the chassis. This paint is Testors Aztek opaque turquoise. It did not go on near as nice as the Aztek pearl on my firebird. I airbrushed the cab first and I needed a fair bit of pressure to get it to spray. When I got around to the box, I added a few drops of Windex to the airbrush cup and it seemed to go on a lot smoother.
  22. Very nice! Good fab job on the flat deck.
  23. I have just tried Bare Metal Foil for the first time on my last project and I must say I like it! I have always painted my trim before and it looks OK, but the foil is more realistic. I found it easy to apply too.
  24. I have been working on getting the tailgate to operate properly. I am using straight pins for hinges. After drilling the tailgate and the bed sides, the hinge pin holes in the bed side were too close to the back edge for my liking, so I beefed them up with a little chunk of sprue and some custom made stake pockets. Once everything is painted I can insert the hinge pins and the tail lights should hold them in place and hide them.
