I remember a lot of Internationals running around when I was a teenager. I will be happy to spend my money for this new kit.

Your project is awesome! I love that you have created a vision and are working through all the mods to make it happen. For your searchlight, I suggest rummaging through you household recycle bin, The bottom of a soda can can be a parabolic reflector and a vitamin bottle could make the sleeve. Good luck!

Thanks. I plan on putting a rod about 3/8" away to kind of cradle the tires. I am not fond of it being in the hatchway either. In reality there is no reason to have the door opening so high. I had contemplated moving the tire rack in front of the box but the sleeper will actually occupy part of where it would go. (The mock up earlier in the thread shows the cab and sleeper much lower than it will actually be). I also thought of leaving it off altogether but I found a way to use it.

Waterslide Inkjet Decal Papers 2021?
Bills72sj replied to Erik Smith's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I bought some clear and white decal paper from a vendor on ebay within the last 5 years. I used a 20 year old HP inkjet printer with pretty decent results. I started with huge file sizes and reduced PRINT size down to as little as 3%. The printer was only 300dpi on the best setting. However, black only on white paper laid the ink heavy enough that it tried to bead up before it could dry. The cracking on the BENDPAK decals shows what I am talking about. Below is a link to my diorama that i did most all of the decals for. -

Does Super Clean Wear Out, or Weaken?
Bills72sj replied to Snake45's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
My 1st batch of Super clean lasted at least 5 years and did about a dozen bodies. I kept it in a sealed plastic 5 qt ice cream container. The handle was handy. I once left a body in it for 5 months. No harm whatsoever. I also concur with straining it from time to time to extend its life. Warmth does help. It is a chemical reaction after all. I recently had one paint job fight back. 2 weeks in Super clean, nothing. A week in fresh brake fluid loosened it. Another few days in Super Clean and it was back to bare plastic. An old toothbrush really helps scrubbing in the rinse off proceedure. If I was impatient, I would consider an ultrasonic cleaner. -
Thanks. They turned out very well.

Made some more changes today. I was not liking the rain gutter tire rack and the little wings on the side. I separated the top plate from the gutter and rotated the gutter concave side rearward instead of up. The original top diamond plate is now vertical in front of the parking spot. A new larger diamond plate deck covers the top. I needed a ladder so I visited my friend Tim. He gave me an absolutely PERFECTLY sized ladder. The length, width and thickness were spot on. He thinks it came from a 1/32 fire truck. It worked out great.

Thanks.

Excellent craftsmanship and paint work. The Chevelle looks similar to mine from years ago.

I like it.

Rustoleum Clear Gloss Lacquer
Bills72sj replied to Snake45's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Following. I have a good stash of Testors Wet Look clear but it will not last forever. -
I checked on how the giant ramp notches would work with a lowered car. Not so good. Even backed in didn't work because the rear bumper hits the front wall. So I just cut off the forward portion of the ramp and replaced it with scale diamond plate sheet that was reinforced. Much better now. Most cars will work except the REALLY low ones. Now onto dealing with the awkward tire rack.

I use these. Real metal, hollow and to scale. What more could you ask for. Available at my LHS which sell RC planes and cars.

Way cool build!
