  1. Buy a surge suppressor that has a protection warranty. Much cheaper than most boards and it gives you recourse in the event of a power surge.
  2. After a quick check of Jegs website, "10.5" tires come in varying height an section widths in spite of the same designation. Height x section width 26.0" x 10.5" is 1.04" x 0.42" in 1/25th scale 28.1" x 11.7" is 1.12" x 0.47" 28.5" x 13.0" is 1.14" x 0.52" 30.1" x 13.0" is 1.20" x 0.52" 31.5" x 14.7" is 1.26" x 0.59" I would use common NASCAR tires. A pair I am using are 1.14" x 0.518" which is right in the middle of the range of tires above. For wheel tubs you could just mini tub it like I did my current mustang build.
  3. Sorry for the loss of your Dad. I would love to have an R/T built exactly like that. If you ever get tired of it I would prominently place it in my display cabinet.
  4. Cool! Love the pink. I built a pink AAR Cuda years ago.
  5. Look for the '66 Penske Racing Corvette.
  6. Stunning paint! Most impressive!
  7. I too have learned that lesson. I pull the cap, put a drop on a piece of masking taped laid on the desk to dip into and set the bottle upright, cap off, until my pieces are glued. The glue runs back into the bottle and I wipe the tip. I squeeze it a few times to make sure the tip is clear and replace the cap. The cap never see wet glue so it does not try to stick. I also keep a hat pin handy in case the nozzle gets clogged. Since I usually make sure the nozzle is clear before I cap I have not needed to use it for a while now.
  8. I live old school but work with newer technology. I am currently in residential HVAC. The newer thermostats can do some pretty cool stuff but there is too much electronics being inserted into the heating and cooling units themselves. Furnaces used to generally last 20-25 years. Today's "energy efficient" ones with variable speed everything have $1000 circuit board failures on a much too frequent basis. It leaves the home owner in the cold because I can longer simply change a common part or perform a workaround. I was starting to see the same thing in the restaurant kitchen equipment as well. (Sorry, your very important cooler is down, I have to wait for a pre programmed control board from the factory). If you are in California I am going to make a prediction. If you have a fancy wifi thermostat, the day is coming where the state will decide FOR you what temperature your house can be during high electricity demand. Just you wait and see.
  9. Awesome for a 1st time effort. Actually it is pretty dang good regardless.
  10. Bob, I am in the same predicament. I REALLY want custom sized aluminum hoops for whatever wheel centers I choose. I would like to really fill the wheel wells of my Day-2 builds. I have a Taig mini-lathe on its way to make my own. Saturday I built a drop down work table in my garage just for it. I already have the thick-wall aluminum tubing. It just came just the other day. I can't wait to start carving some custom hoops!
  11. Beautiful work. I like the Bonne and the Dodge truck the best.

  17. I really liked what you did on this build. Great creativity.
  18. Hacked up a donor 67 Shelby body to provide a more realistic engine bay for my 68 Shelby.
  19. Very well done. It is unusual to not see a gap between the cab and the bed like most pickups.
  20. Simply gorgeous!!!!!! I hope to make one half as nice some day. This is my favorite body of the Fuselage era.
  21. Very well done. Particularly the foil trim. How did you get the Fairlane 500 script to come out so nice?
  22. Very nice build. "Cool" cool air intake on it too.
  23. Way cool replica. Very nice touches. I am sure he will be pleased.
