  1. I noticed the excellently executed dash too.
  2. Jeff adding/collecting them here is actually pretty easy. Just open multiple tabs in your browser and cut and paste the links of the completed builds to this thread all in one post (or maybe a new thread). I could probably do it in about 15 minutes if I had the complete list. I know you have recently TTT them in the under glass topic which helps. The beauty is once all the links are in one post they will stay together. The problem is how messy the thread will get if/when folks reply if they use the "quote" feature when replying with their vote. We could ask voters specifically to NOT use the quote feature. We would have to clarify to not cast VOTES on the individual finished build threads or they may not be counted. (Though additional comments on each thread would be nice) I COULD make a new BRBO 2020 voting thread with links as a test, but since I am an entrant with a potential chance a winning, I do not think it would be appropriate for me to determine the order or edit the content. Also since I am not a moderator I do not have the ability to remove the thread if things go sideways. Alternately each entrant could supply up to 5 pics of their build. If we added commentary for each pic, some folks could get really wordy and/or the builders with busy lives could be left out if they did not submit their final entry in time. The tricky part will be counting the votes if we have an overwhelming public response. We may need a moderator to make sure each member only makes one vote. We could also complicate it by allowing everyone to vote their Top 3 and then sort out that count. ----or----- We could simply let our generous sponsor be the sole judge. I once won an online contest years ago sponsored by an aftermarket vendor by this method. Good luck in whatever you decide.
  3. Get a can of Testors or Model Master #2916 British Racing Green Metallic. See if you like the color.
  4. Chris thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, that is one I do not have. Anyone else have any suggestions?
  5. Cool project. I would just make up your own decals with whatever fictitious business you desire. Here are few I have made,
  6. I agree. The 69 Olds chassis is one of the most detailed chassis for GM A-bodies of that era. And yes the 69 Hurst Olds is just as detailed. I got some pretty decent sized tires under it without cutting plastic. My 69 Chevelle from the same kit as yours, required cutting out the rear inner fenders. I did not tub it.
  7. Very nice "plain brown wrapper". I like what the pearl does to the finish. It is more realistic.
  8. I like your build. Someday I want to build a 72 Cutlass Supreme like a family member used to have.
  9. Sweet and low. Very nice Caddy.
  10. I use a range of clamps based on the reach and/or tension required. I use alligator clips mostly for spray painting. I use both large and small black binder clamps from any office supply house. I use plain wooden clothes pins for most of my gluing as the tension is adequate but they do not open very wide. I have some $1 store plastic clamps which are very versatile. I have a plastic jawed Panavise with a very heavy base which is invaluable for holding things still. I have some mini ratcheting clamps for big stuff. I even use rubber bands when they are needed. My favorite are the two pairs of hemostats for the tiny stuff fingers cannot deal with.
  11. May I suggest that links to the threads for all the completed entries be added to this thread.
  12. I am nearing the end of the interior build for my 427 SOHC 67 Mustang race car. I am looking to add a chrome fire extinguisher to it. I have a number of Muscle car and Semi truck kits to pilfer. Does anyone know which kits have an extinguisher?
  13. Beautiful work on the detailing and weathering. if I was to make a suggestion, it would be to chew up the tops of the upper wood pieces. We all know how front loaders bash them up.
  14. Way cool subject. Great details as well.
  15. Very nice. Now that you have it back, you will remember your friend every time you see it.
  16. That bed is amazing! Too bad the headlights got so clouded.
  17. Thank you for the feedback. Yes MS Paint is quite the time consuming pain for creating artwork. It was just the best functioning program I had to make good quality decals from already existing art. Below is the only artwork that I made from scratch. Much of it was done the hard way pixel by pixel.
  18. For me it is the subject matter period. For display purposes, sure the eye can see the difference, but isn't the fun supposed to be in the creation of the art in the first place? Below is the local E-body MOPAR club visiting my workshop. Do scale differences really detract from the viewers enjoyment that much?
  19. This what I use as the 2nd step. I first use Testors red (tube) in just a couple of hidden places to give it a strong tack to the roof. I then use a toothpick to "wick" in the Clear Parts Cement pictured above, to COMPLETELY seal the entire perimeter but not all at once. Since the glue will run slowly I tend to do one or two sides at a time and position the parts as to have the excess flow AWAY from the window frame. It some times takes 4 or 5 daily applications to completely seal in a window. I use the same method for attaching chrome bumpers to minimize the "air" gap between the body and bumper. The pieces stay well attached since they are adhered on their entire perimeter.
  20. I have had some success with inkjet water slide decals on both white and clear papers. Inkjets have their limitations on colors such as no gold, silver or printed white. I have used bmp files in MS paint to produce them. The key is to start with the largest size of art you can get then reduce the "PRINT" size NOT the file size. Many of the decals I printed out were printed as small as 3% of the original artwork. This really helps with the crispness and resolution. My inkjet printer does ok because the ink flows together ever so slightly before it dries minimizing the dot effect. Below are examples of waterslides used for my recently completed diorama.
  21. Fantastic job on the muddin'. Very realistic.
  22. That is way cool!!! It is like a Monster truck that works for a living.
