What color would match this blue
Doug 1061 replied to junkyardjeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Testors arctic blue would be a close match. -
You hit a homer with this one. Great stance, got that nice 70s vibe going. Love that color.

Came out great. These newer Revell kits are nice.

A100 DODGE
Doug 1061 replied to XYHARRY's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Good lookin little Dodge. I built one of these years ago, stock with stock wheels and dog dish caps. Pretty good kit overall. No worries about missing motor, can't see it anyway. Some guys mentioned the doors being very difficult but I didn't find them all that bad. I don't recall a bed cover being in the kit, or did you make it? If this kit comes back I'll get another one. -
I called in well today, made this a George Jetson week? Got a call from my local Hobbytown and told me my garbage packers came in. Wasn't expecting them till mid Oct. Supposed to be a cool drizzly day tomorrow so hope to get started on one of them. I'm gonna try my hand at weathering.

I'm not a big fan of 71 and up Chargers but you really did this one justice. Beautiful work.

Good looking workhorse. The mismatched hood gives it character. -
Great looking paint job there. I built this kit a couple years back, wanted it Panther Pink but could not get it to come out right. After the third time sending it for a swim I went with Testors arctic blue with white interior. This is an excellent kit, no fit issues that I recall. I have another one but haven't decided what color to paint it yet. Leaning heavily toward plum crazy. I have always liked that color.

My daily driver. 2015 F150. I can't believe how hard it is to find a 4 or 5 year old truck that is not beat. If you want some entertainment walk into a dealer and tell them you want a regular cab truck. Every dealer I walked into they looked at me like I landed in a flying saucer and was a little green man. Nothing but 4 doors everywhere. I remember a time when you couldn't give a 4 door truck away. How times have changed. My now spare truck. 95 F150 that I got brand new Halloween of 94. Still in great shape body wise, 265,000 mi. on the ticker. 4.9 5 speed. Has been a workhorse since day one. It has literally been used as a garbage truck, it saved our hides a few times when I was in the trash biz. I'll have it till I'm dead. My pleasure horse. 2014 Honda CB1100. This is the best of all the retro bikes out there. Very fun toy.

Well it’s finally announced.?
Doug 1061 replied to NYLIBUD's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I wonder how many shovels full per mile that truck gets. -
Impressive. That is someone with too much time on his/her hands. I wonder how many tries it took to get it.

Beautiful work. If you didn't mention it most people would think this was a regular kit. That paint in the sunlight reminds me of the original hot wheels "spectra flame" colors they had. Great save.
-
That came out real nice. Always nice to be able to get a redo of these old kits. I have a few AMT trucks that I got to do over to make up for the ones I butchered when I was a young'un. I really wish I still had some of my models from back then. But like many of us on here mine met the their fate with fireworks.

That is beautiful I have overlooked these Italeri kits due to the price of them but I may have to buck up and try one. -

This is way cool. Brings back memories. I was a trash man many years ago. Now for some 1/25 scale trash stench? Looking sharp so far. -
What did you see on the road today?
Doug 1061 replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I haven't seen one of these in a bazillion years. Forgot all about them. Just like the Saab Sonnet I saw cruising thru my hood last weekend. -
Looks great. I haven't seen one of these driving around here in a long time.

Too cool. I think about trying a diorama but that's as far as it ever gets.
