Believe it or not, Ebay is a pretty good source. Fireball model works (Fireballmodels.info) , Scenesunlimited, Morgan Automotive Detail are a few right off the top of my head. There are others.
Tho I'd probably never build such a car, the umpteen variations of the old drag cars is intriguing. Great reference for these cars is georgeklass.net. There are a crazy lot of pictures of them.
Cool build Dan.
Did you use the Deco Art? I used it on the Mustang model in progress and did'nt like how it looked so used some Anita's Metallic Black Craft I had previously and it went on smoother and actually with a bit of gloss.
Not to get into a Camaro vs Mustang vs Challenger "argument" here but my Daughters Ecoboost Turbo 4 is as fast as my 315HP 2002 WS6 TransAm if not faster. Just sayin.
But nice car David, congrats!!
I didn't realize Tamiya actually has 2 different tapes. Obviously the "Tape for Curves" is for, well, curves. The other is yellow. Is this tape as good as the white?
Black Bare Metal Foil (if you're used to it) is another alternative. But, I find on the sheet I have, you can't burnish it down too much or the silver under the black shows thru.
Thanks, and yes Craig it did spray and smooth out pretty darn good. I first sprayed it with Folkart or DecoArt (don't remember which one it was) and I really didn't like it as much as the Anita's Metallic Black. Really didn't want to do it metallic but I had previously sprayed a car with the Metallic and it looked good so I went ahead and used it again.
I have the sub-assemblies completed. Trim foiling and decals then put her together. At first was gonna do aftermarket wheels but went ahead and decided use the as delivered ones.
Only deviation from stock is the paint is Anita's Black Metallic craft paint over Krylon primer (the gold flakes are gold and very subtle). Cleared with Rustoleum Acrylic Laquer.
