  1. I've owned a couple of Corvairs. Fun cars, but a tinkerer's car. I'd like to have another someday as a restoration/driver.
  2. Phenomenal! Absolutely stunning build. Outstanding paint and detail. Guys like you keep raising the &%#%!! bar! ?
  3. The one I built had the straight six. It sat OK. I haven't tried the one with the V8. Sometimes you just have to walk away and come back later and take another look. I have a '40 Ford coupe I'm modeling after pictures of a late friend's old hot rod. I started it about 25 years ago and packed it away when life got busy. I got it out a couple of years ago and have put it away a few times as I've hit roadblocks on some customizing. Someday.
  4. That's a cool bunch of projects. Lookin' good. I think I have just about that many in various stages right now.
  5. Those are the same people who don't have the good sense to sit down and build an old-fashioned model! ? Well, not just models of course, but there are so many things people could do to learn, be creative, become more independent and enlightened, than sitting and watching TV... schmaltz. I like that word. Just one guys opinion, of course.
  6. That looks fantastic. Awesome patina. Great hot rod shop truck.
  7. Yep, to each his own, it's there money and all that stuff. I'm just stunned that model kits can sell for that much. That's what I get for ignoring the hobby for 25 years instead of buying! ?
  8. Well, somebody is watching and giving them ratings, or they wouldn't have sponsors. Supply and demand. I'm with Snake, I positively couldn't care less what Meghan and Harry have to say.
  9. Thank you. Absolutely incredible work you've done. I wish they made that D9R in 1/25 scale. That would be great on a lowboy trailer. ?
  10. Very well done. Nice paint and details.
  11. Um... what am I missing here? $640? I mean, it's rare and nostalgic, but.... WOW!
  12. OSHA... that what you hear when you put a seashell up to your ear, right? ?

    34 Ford Coupe

Very nice, clean build. The wheel and tire combo look great.
  14. Pathetic. This is what the American market demands on TV? Yet another reason my TV doesn't get turned on and hasn't for three years.
  15. I feel your pain Carl. I've been battling a bad sinus infection and bronchitis for three weeks... well, actually it all started at the end of January. Thanks to COVID protocol it's been all but impossible to get a consistent Dr. because I can only go to urgent care with my symptoms. Had a real battle with the clinic last week. I feel like I'm starting to kick it. Hang in there buddy, feel better soon.
  16. Lookin' good. Kudos on tackling the plug wires... you're a step ahead of me. Looks like you got the orange to cover well on the engine. There was an earlier discussion about primer. I've gone to using black primer on engines because cast iron is dark. The black gives good depth and any thin areas such as angles where sprayed paint can sometimes wick away will appear as shadows instead of highlights. Just personal preference. I'm with you, the work displayed on this site is incredible. I've been out of the hobby for 25 years and back then it there wasn't much on the 'net.
  17. Very cool build, love the subject. Will be following. Never saw the Brockways on the West Coast.
  18. Looks like we got a little sideways and off the wall! Nice job making a realistic beater. Even the ashtray is missing from the back of the console. Well done!
  19. Love it. What a classic. Nice clean build, too.
