I'm looking at the chrome front grille and the photo etched one that came in the kit. Looking at the 1:1 Big John Mazmanian Willy's it's a different shape and has a slight bow to it. The chrome one is bowed and the photo etched one is flat. Not sure what to do here. Can't trial fit the grills as my paint on the body is still curing. Need a little help here.

Thanks for all the reply's fellows. -
Thanks Carl. All I saw at the local hobby shop was white primer and white basecoat but I will keep that in mind.

*Rust-Oleum Acrylic Lacquer Spray, Clear Gloss*
Zippi replied to Zippi's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks for the info Tom. Looks like your 64 came out pretty nice. I'm going to let the Tamiya TS-8 cure for a couple days then give it a go. -
Nice looking Sedan. I looked for a 40 coupe for the longest time but couldn't find what I wanted at the price I wanted to pay. Currently have a 49 Chevy pickup Restomod.

I guess I missed this one. Fantastic looking. You know I love the Gassers. Food for thought.....the 1957 Ford out sold the 1957 Chevy back in the day.

Just sprayed my 41 Willy's body with Tamiya TS-8 Italian Red lacquer. I'm thinking of trying the Rust-Oleum Acrylic Lacqer clear gloss over the Tamiya lacquer. I'm not sure if this Rust-Oleum lacquer can be wet sanded or not. I've read pro and cons about sanding lacquer on the ole interweb. Does anyone have any experience with wet sanding the Rust-Oleum Acrylic lacquer clear?

Pretty nice looking wagon Steve. The attention to detail is nicely done. Love the transformation from the 4 door to 2 door.

Zippi replied to Mattilacken's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Sharp looking Chevelle . The wheels and tires give it the right stance. NIcely done. -
Don't know how I missed this thread. Boy is that some fine machine work Tim. Had a 72 back in the day and the wife hated it. I'll be watching this one.

Good looking Buick. That red and white combo looks killer.

I have a rolling chassis. Can't seem to get the front wheels to snap on like the rear did. I thought I had broken it once so I stopped. I may have to cut a portion of the axle off and glue the front wheels on.

Thanks Mike.

I got the body re-painted. With the white basecoat the color came out pretty close to the color on the cap. It has some orange peel but not bad. This time around I sat the can in some warm water as others have suggested. I'll let the body set for a couple days before spraying it will clear. Trying a new clear coat this time around.

Thanks Dave. Yeah it's going on 11 months now and really enjoying myself. My wife will be retiring in September of 2022 so I don't have much Freedom time left ☺

Couple of nice looking models right there George. I got a 34 Ford pickup waiting to be built.
