  6. Decided to drive into town today and check out HL for anything new on the model shelves. Looked out the living room window and then thought I’d get the snow off the driveway first as long as it was nice outside. Put the snowblower away and came inside to get cleaned up and dressed to go into town. As I was toweling off I heard Joyce chuckle and she told me to come look at THIS. THIS turned out to be LOTS of fresh snow coming down and so windy that the snow was blown horizontally. There’s still lots of snow coming down and refilling the driveway; I like to do what I can to help out the snowplow drivers and neighbors use their snow removal gear! ??? Joe

  10. I sure like this one! Great color combination that shouts out its origin and has an aggressive look without being "mean". I have an old issue AMT '32 that just might end up looking somewhat like this car. Thanks for sharing the photo. ? Joe

  12. Nice model! Have one in the restoration process and it’s a fun kit. Sure like the photos, background and the Blue Beetle combination. ? Joe
  13. Over the years I have found that the secret to sanding CA mixed with talc powder, used as a filler for small areas, is to sand the applied filler within an hour. I usually sand after 30 - 45 minutes with 180 grit and then finish up with 320 grit. This knocks CA down and mixes plastic sanding dust with the filler which further fills the location. The longer one waits to knock the CA filler down the harder the glue becomes. For larger areas or deeper fills I use Evercoat 2 part filler which is easy to sand when dry. Joe

  19. Mike, you can try using Silly Putty as a paint mask for small and/or tight areas. Use a two -end pointed toothpick with one point beveled to put the SP where you want it; also, dental tools can aid when pushing the putty into areas where you don't want the paint to be. Joe
  20. What a hoot! Have not seen this one before today and I enjoyed looking at the model. Thanks for sharing! ? Joe
