Nice yellow Dino, you KNOW I love Dinos, and Ron, Dino was Enzo's only son, who designed the V6. Enzo was all about V12s. Tragically Dino died young. The 308 was a V8 version of Dino's fabulous V6. 2.4 liter 6 cylinder, hence the name 246. 3 liter V8, hence 308. Older Ferraris were named for the displacement of ONE cylinder, because Enzo knew they were all V12s. 250 is 250cc per cyl. x12 equals 3 liter, yes those Ferrari V12s were only 3 liter.

Scout Parts

Here's how mine ended up, no hood latch yet but mostly complete, I did an easy hood hinge, which I can explain if anyone's interested. Not totally accurate but WAY better than "out of box", not? -
Wow, that's pretty amazing bodywork, I'd have not thought of doing it that way, very cool indeed!

Tom, I removed it at the drip rail, then using an emery board, sanded the roof section down just a bit, then glued it back on, keeping the rear where it belongs, only shortage was where the windshield header mates. The roof was vinyl, now it's smooth so blending it in at the top of the windshield header was easy. In scale, 1/8th of an inch equals about 3 inches! So at first it was going to be a high end modern custom, then I thought maybe better as a '60s surfer woody, but I also thought about making it into something like a Dodge Power Wagon, 1 ton!!! Still dreaming and working on the interior panels, slowly between other projects!

I"m thinking of light tan, which I've already painted it in, but I've dropped the hood 3 times and each time it chipped, so a repaint is in order. I've re-designed the rear wood configuration and fitted the Chevy dash, still making interior panels, remember it started as a 4 door Ford.

It doesn't get much cooler than that for a hot rod, I love it! -
Like others I thought it was real, man it sure looks real, even with both doors open, wow. I love it!

I just bought a junker Pacer, $15, don't know what I'll do with it, but I sure am inspired now! And that interior, wow is that ever cool, of course you always do such great work, and this is another!
-
That looks great and it's another model that we rarely see built, nice job!

Here's how much I had to take off those rear fenders. With the '50 Chevy front end grafted on, you can see why I wanted these fenders over the Ford ones! I had to make more "wood" as these fenders are smaller than the originals. Also the doors are the length of the '48 Ford coupe, as originally I was going to make it a 2 door Ford woody, now it's a, um, well, I'm not really sure what it is! It IS fun!
-
I wanted to use the rear fenders from the '50 Chev pickup, but of course they're way too wide, so they got sliced! Then the splash guard "kink" had to be smoothed. The "wood" around the fenders was attached to the fenders!
