  1. I think they may have come from the MPC Firebird Formula 400. I built the kit when it was new, it has the daisy mags, but I don't know if they are staggered. MPC used wheelbacks on all 4 corners as I remember it. I doubt 2 would have bosses and 2 would be plain. My built up is packed away so I cant get to it to check. Perhaps the ones you've show came from 2 different kits.
  2. I have no idea why the linked site has pictures of the car Jesse posted. It's a Mercedes AMG Vision Gran Turismo from the video game Gran Turismo 6. Five real 1:1 cars were made in 2013, but not by Mercedes. The game has a racing version too.
  3. That was a pretty nice Monte Carlo. Emphasis on "was"
  4. Medical tape has small perforations in it that would simulate those found in the wheel wraps. It's plastic ( not the cloth type ) and might form well when cut narrow enough for a steering wheel. Maybe you have some in your medicine cabinet already.
  5. Yet Madonna lives on.......sorry material girl fans, just had to add that good grief I hope that comment doesn't get me banned!
  6. I'm sorry for your loss brother. I'm sure you've found some peace knowing his suffering is over. My dad passed from cancer. It was tough, so hang in there and don't lose yourself in the grieving process. Not trying to make this about me, just adding that my dad saw combat in WWll and the Korean war. The VA doc declared him cancer free and said he only needed once a year ck-ups. He was dead in less than 6 months.
  7. A favorite of mine, still trying to nail down the year.
  8. If you have an airbrush, I would recommend the Testors Aztec acrylic clear. It dries rock hard, polishes great, and doesn't have the "super extra dipped in gloss" look that some of the spray can clears do.
  9. Excellent approach to tacking the bellypan/frame issue, B. I've thought of doing it that way, just never followed through.
  10. Great job on the pinstriping!
  11. Remember when you see a serviceman ( or woman ) to thank them for their service.

Here's a neat old survivor I picked up from ebay a couple years ago.
  13. Sure was. No spoilers for those who missed it!
  14. I say give it a try. I did this many years ago and found that by the time I got enough candy mixed in for a color change, it muddied up the solid color. I think Snake's idea of candy over the solid would be much better.
  15. Nice! Great job on attaching that separate top.
  16. I like that, great proportions!
  17. I'm not sure why Hobbylinc allowed those pics to be posted, it's not even the same kit.
  18. Perhaps a thin coat of putty over the seat, then stippled with a sponge or stiff brush?
  19. Dave Reese was the last contact I knew regarding Fremont Racing Specialties when it resurfaced a year or so back. He was selling some decals and prototype models. He's not Fremont Racing, just knows the fellow (whose name I've forgotten) http://www.ebay.com/usr/reese_models If Dave's not the guy, PM me, I know who it probably is.
  20. Check out Chucks pictures of the stock yellow truck vs Foose. If you look at the relationship between the bottom edge of the windshield sides, the character line at the cowl, and the curved part of the door opening, its a lot different. I does look like the top was lowered into the body.
  21. Another knockout Dennis. The design and craftsmanship on this is excellent, it perfectly captures the look you were after. I like the understated black running gear and dark green block. And I'm not sure this would have looked as nice in any other color. The way everything fits together, plus that brown, gives it an earthy, organic look. All the pieces are there for a reason. I love it!
