  1. Looks like a cool project. Are you starting with the Monogram Sport 300 kit?
  2. You'll like it. I have The Nutter set and it comes in very handy. It comes with hex sizes of 0.5 mm, 1.0 mm, and 1.5 mm. What I really need is 0.75 mm, the perfect size for 1/24 scale lug nuts. I need to order a spare set of hex tips so I can modify them for sizes not currently available.
  3. Very cool. Big's diggers always looked so sinister. Nice build.
  4. Well thank you very much for that. I have a 1/24 scale motorcycle scratch build im gathering ideas and materials for, and the one thing I can’t work out is a decent chain. Problem solved!! Many thanks.
  5. Cool tip. Nice weathering.
  6. Typical Revell wheel fail. It's Revell, 'nuff said.
  7. Stay away from all enamel clears if yellowing is a concern. In fact, avoid painting with white enamel in the first place if you are concerned about yellowing.
  8. It's an intriguing idea. I was going to opt for it but the premium for a Canadian subscription was quite high. I hope there is some success with this endeavour. If I can scrape together some more disposable cash I'll be going for it.
  9. I like to trim most of the excess away if I can, then glue the windscreen in place. If for some reason the excess is not easily trimmed away from the inside of the body and you feel it is well adhered to the body, then glue the windscreen to it. In most cases though, I would avoid gluing the windscreen to only BMF.
  10. Swap the 'good pair of scissors' for jeweller's files and a pair of flat nose pliers, and that's my method. Carve, form, fabricate the chunky bits from Evergreen plastic. Taylor made for whatever project you are working on and better looking than PE.
  11. Very tasty! Love it.
  12. Cool! Also interested in info on a 1/24 Mk1 Cortina.
  13. Oh yeah, that looks great!! Outstanding shine. Well done.
  14. Cool build. That rear 3/4 view looks mean.
  15. Interesting bare metal technique. Looks great.
  16. I completely agree with the above answers. I remove shortly after the paint begins to set up.
  17. Good question. I’ve been thinning hobby enamels with hardware store lacquer thinner for years without a problem. Some new kits do seem particularly susceptible to crazing, though. Don’t know if the enamel/lacquer combo is a problem on those kits. I too would like to hear if this has caused anyone grief.
  18. I was very excited when I first heard the Pinto was being reissued, until I learned it was the AMT kit. I wouldn’t walk across the road for one. I have a ‘76 in the stash for years, but will never build it. In fact I splashed out for an MPC ‘76 last year to build because the AMT just doesn’t cut it; weird body, very weak grill and tail lights, etc, etc.
  19. That’s a lot of time and money for what at a glance looks like a chrome plated Esci Mk II Escort kit. Wish they showed more pics. Sounds like an incredible project.
  20. Sharp looking midget. Nice kit collection, too.
  21. Very cool! Japanese vending machines, eh? You did great work on these neat, little bikes. The weathering on the Monkey is top notch.
  22. Awesome looking Merc!
  23. I'm not familiar with the red one, but I know the white one only has red Mach I side stripes. I can see from the box art the red kit has at least black stripes. No idea if other stripe colours are in the red kit. To build a very nice Mach 1, your best bet would be to get one of the new Boss 302 kits for the corrected front body work, and combine it with one of the above Mach I kits.
  24. Yeah, I remember that stuff. I built one model with it, then binned it. It was miserable to use, and though it may have been non-toxic, I couldn't stand the smell.
