  1. Nice. I keep looking at that truck, wanting to add it to collection.
  2. Hey Clifford, great to see you on here. I referred a poster to your post about the Willys pickup just the other day - he might could use your expertise in modifying diecast in the other thread titled Die cast body modification. Nice looking cars. Thanks for sharing.
  3. CorelDraw is a great program. Just make sure to buy an older version that doesn't require a subscription. I've been using X3 (13) for probably 10 years now at work. The only problem I encounter is that it won't always open PDFs created on newer versions than X3 can support. Draw is a vector program (lines) where Photopaint is similar to photoshop and does jpg and photos (raster graphics). If you can get a full set of 4 discs, you will get the entire suite that includes both and a ton of fonts and grahics. Shouldn't be too expensive at this point?
  4. Looks good.
  5. Glad you found them. What's the last two you're looking for? I still haven't located the ones I have to see if I can help. I've found some of mine, but not all
  6. Yep. It was raining. I tried to keep car dry, but that one got it and I didn't see it till I posted. Thanks for the compliments
  7. Here it is. I think the body was started maybe 15 years ago? It's been a long time. I would work on it in fits and starts. Then got completely stalled out. But with the revell lot, gave me more easily built frame. Seems like everything had to be modified at least a little, but that's no big thing right? Not a perfect hot rod, but I like just the way it is. Like a home built car.
  8. This one is done. Going to under glass now. Thanks for following along and giving input.
  9. Nice! And can't tell the difference at a glance in the Mint car and the HW. HW did some nice pieces.
  10. That is a killer eyeball!
  11. I feel your frustration. Been there. Fought it. Good luck getting it sorted.
  12. Is this what you're looking for? Very similar, but the builder didn't peak his either. https://www.diecast.org/diecast98/html/asp/forums/bulletinboard/viewMessage.asp?id=410747&start=410747 I believe I'd let it ride. But I understand that might not be suitable to you as builder.
  13. THat is looking great.
  14. I used to love the 959. But never studied the nuances. So after all these years, your model captures the spirit of the 959 quite well from my memories. Yes, if we study on it, we will see the inaccuracies. But I say put it on a shelf and be proud of it. Looks good to me. And if there isn't a better one next to it, who will know? Thanks for sharing.
  15. Nice. Never bui;lt this one - I do have a variant somewhere that I'll probably never finish either. lol
  16. I mentioned this kit to wife. Size and cost made her give me a definite NO. LOL. We have so many cars in the house now, that she is reaching critical mass on bringing in more large models. I recently bought a 1/16 Danbury Mint 53 Caddy and it was about as big as I can go. Oh well, I'll keep watching... With all that said, this is a beautiful build.
  17. Hey, we've all been there probably. My example was a past issue of the 66 Buick Wildcat., I was not inspired, but built it kinda nicely using kit parts. Put a reasonable paint job on it. Forgot all about it. Years later, after a couple moves and divorce, I unpacked it and loved it. Didn't really have anywhere much to display it, but enjoyed looking at it after all the years. I put it on ebay for what I was thought an astronomical price just in case, and it actually sold for full price. So yeah, it happens. Build it as intersting as you can. Or start it and when something better comes along, pu t it back in box. You may find interest again someday. I'm working on a 69 Cougar from that category right now. Interior was complete and reasonably good. I'll finish it up and display it for a while. Then it can probably move along as well.
  18. That's a nice looking piece.
  19. Hood looks like a separate part, but doesn't open? Hmmmm, wonder if there is a plan for a more detailed version at some point? Or am I not seeing it correctly? Interesting piece.
  20. I'm still reading and studying on all that is posted. I think it's a viable post about saw tools at this point.
  21. I *think* this is the FIRST time in however many years that I've found something worth buying. The plastic car kits are long gone. All that's left is some huge stage coach or civil war thing.
  22. Thanks. That may be the best compliment ever! Hope you have a much fun as I have with it.
  23. Probably last update before it goes under glass. All I need is taillights and exhaust tips. I think.
  24. Finally found something good at Ollie's. I never seen to have any luck there. Wife's dad had a Corvair, I had a green vega. Thought I needed the GTO (didn't really). And who can pass up a Daytona Cobra??? Couple of the cards had like 1 of4000. And they're at Ollie's. Wow. And a lot of them so I'm thinking these had to be big losers for Round 2.
  25. Dang that looks nice! Great ideas incorporated. Glad to see the wheels built up and worked on. One thing - the drivers side front brake drum looks like it's backwards...
