  1. Ahhh, so modeling talent is genetic.
  2. So I'm looking at the truck that was featured in MCM. Wow, just Wow! I go back to I can see who built it. " Ahh Cliff Read. No Wonder!" Great stuff, Cliff. I always admired all your street rods, but I had no idea you did the same with trucks. Amazing work!
  3. Awww MAN this is slick! I always come to this page hoping to see so cool LSR build, and you did not disappoint. What an excellent build. so much to look at and enjoy! Blown Ferrari, trick suspension, flip up driver's guard, all tucked into an upside down boat. Perfect! Thanks for posting this. I'm going to steal this one to add to my favorites album. Always the fan. Scott
  4. One more for ya'. This was built by my then 14 year old son at the second rat plastic thrash. He glued his fingers together a couple times along the way. Take a close look at the engine.
  5. Well a little older than as a kid. Some years back a group of guys from the Coffin Corner site got together a couple time to build a model (or more) in one day. All we used was CA glue, black primer and silver metalizer. We called the Rat Plastic Thrash. Good times.
  6. It's been a while since I commented on the thread, but I'm always checking. Just amazing. Every detail screams cool.
  7. Color! As always, excellent work, Mark!
  8. Super cool! I love the stance and the possible front wheels...and the rest of it too.
  9. Stunning! My favorite US car done right! Great color, great stance. Well done! How much are those resin bodies going for now?
  10. Well, this is cool! This is an excellent save and a great match to the box art. I think I saw this when I needed to figure out how to make the grill on the one I've been building.
  11. I was 14 and a friend and I were riding small CC motorcycles in the fields around my house. The trick was we had to ride on the street to get to the fields. I still remember the front of the cop car coming over the hill and we did what we always did. We ditched him - sort of. I went one way and my friend went another. I get to my house and threw my bright red windbreaker in the bushes in front of the house. (I'll never know why I did that.) I ran up to my room and within 15 minutes there was a knock on the door. My mom answered and called me down. The cop took me out on the street in front of the whole neighborhood and gave a ticket for unlicensed drive and evading arrest, while making fun of me for throwing the red marker in front of my house to make it easier to find me. My friend got his ticket before I got mine.
  12. A early 70s Chrysler New Yorker. When I turned 16 I got my license and all my friends piled in for a joy ride. Good times.
  13. Hey Stephen. Let me check with Dave for you. He may have missed your question. Scott
  14. This is fun. I love playtime! You know Chris, looking again at that version of the 40, I can see I left some shoulder on it beyond stock. If you go one 1:1 with that one, it may throw you off. Keep posting, I like the dream show of it. Scott
  15. Hey Chris, All those projects look awesome. It's great to see you still have the 40 on the list. It's good to see it mocked up. I like that helper too! Scott
  16. Thanks for the shout out, Paul. I can say that I applied all the suggestions that I got from you and the other forum members who commented on the thread. I can't go into too much detail because I don't want to give up the story for the issue, but I can say, this one has snowballed. (Its my weakness) I am just getting to paint. The scheme will be one suggested by a forum member. Here's a sneak peak shot that will probably not make it into MCM.
  17. OK, Bernard, you have my attention. I'm going to follow this one for sure. Streamliner...check, front mount blower. check, check. I'm in!
  18. It's been a long time since I commented, but I have been following. As always, amazing and inspirational. I originally opened the 100 badge pics on my phone, but I could not see it. I have to good to my big screen computer. WOW.
  19. I also thought the first pics were reference pics. Wow! Excellent work!
  20. I'm liking this thread. When I saw you were using the Revell turbine, I thought "He gonna find out how big that thing is." I built one up a while ago. It took up the back of a pickup bed. Something I learned about that engine is it's not based on anything real. Bob Paeth said the crew at Revell just kinda made up what they thought a turbine engine would look like. Keep going! I want to see how this turns out. Scott`
  21. Well, the sneak peek is OK'd, but not at this time. Stay tuned.
  22. Wow, Steve. Do you have inside access to MCM editorial? I compare the size of it to a 64 Impala in the article. Thats amazing!
  23. Hey Paul, LOTS of progress on the Pierce Arrow. Your's and other member's suggestions (along with some of my own tendencies) really determined the direction of the buildup . We will definitely be in issue 210 as promised. I had no idea you were such and Renwal/Exner fan. Your excellent post is timed well. And your collection is awesome. As far as sneak photos go, let me check with editorial. I like the idea! Scott
  24. Excellent thread, Paul. I am wondering how much massaging it took to get your Pierce Arrow to looks so nice. Chris - The Esquire magazine did not have the Pierce Arrow? I would love to see front and rear styling renderings. When I was reading Larry Greenberg's Atlantis interview in MCM issue 209 there was mention of the Renwal molds. Hmmmm. Scott
  25. I remember every one of those models. I like 'em all. Glad to see you back.
