  1. Were you able to save the side pipes? They looked pretty nice and could be useful on another project. It's always great to see an old original model restored and turned into a gem.
  2. How about wire wheels?
  3. A couple years back I tried going back and forth on builds- 4 or 5 at a time- then last year went back to focusing on one build- and it is actually getting done! I will then go to the next one in line, finish it, then move on again........ I do more scratch building and trying things I wouldn't have dared attempt years ago- sandwiching styrene stock together with white glue, shaping, then soaking the stock apart- modifying a part into something completely different- cutting cedar cigar wrapper into strips using a jig, for boat planking- will soon be attempting resin casting from rubber molds, and finally using an airbrush (need to get a compressor). Molotow pens are a godsend.
  4. Really like this! Great engine, great rear end, great stance!
  5. Scott, really enjoying your articles in Model Cars Magazine showing your restoration and improvements to the Renwal Pierce Arrow!
  6. Reminds me of Vic Edelbrock Sr's deuce. Yours is one sweet hot rod!
  7. Any updates? Found this build really interesting.
  8. Issue #211 is excellent! Thanks!
  9. That's good- I shall have to devote thought to that- which means I have fallen down another hole.............. Can you turn a hole inside out?
  10. Is the Warner Brothers portable hole applicable here? Additionally, is there really such a thing as a partial hole? It would seem to me that all holes must be wholly whole holes............
  11. Great build, love the colors! Plenty of mix and match parts in both the deuce and A kits!
  12. How about the Monogram Black Widow?
  13. Sheet aluminum is also useful. Beveridge cans are useful, but sometimes difficult to flatten. Any sheet metal shops in the area might sell you scrap, also a recycling yard. My late father-in-law gave me a tip about tools- buy them as you need them, instead of trying to buy what you think you may need all at once. I use nail sticks for most of my sanding now, and have picked up a few useful files at yard sales- a chain saw file has been a most useful tool over the years!
  14. Great rod- can't go wrong with basic black.
  15. RRR, I have always felt the AMT 36's were a bit too high at the front of the fenders. Also, the Monogram 36's had the tuck under on the grille correct, which the AMT lacks. Here's a pic of my 3 window I completed a while back.
  16. That chopped 5 window is wickedly kool. Ask your wife for old makeup- useful for weathering.
  17. That maroon paint really is gorgeous! Great build of one of the sexiest cars ever made.
  18. Paint! Messed up the hood, had to sand down, reprime, and repaint when weather allows. Oh, well! Still working on the grille, also designing the blade bumpers which will be similar to the bumpers on the Phantom Corsair.
  19. See the You Ess Aye in your- FORD! Seriously, your back ground pic is great, and compliments some great models!
  20. Great job on the chop, paint is great- my favorite custom and hot rod color! I like that the engine isn't sticking through the hood- preserves the clean lines and also makes it a real sleeper!
  21. Guess I'll have to build my own- I really need another project- but that is really inspiring!
  22. Beautiful build! Proportions are right on!
  23. Aluminum or brass tubing works well.
  24. That maroon is just gorgeous! Great color pick!
  25. About the best weathering job I have seen! Will be using this one as a reference for my 46 Power Wagon!
