  1. There was a movie from the early fifties- can not remember the title or actors- younger brother goes to find out about his convicted brother- in the bedroom there is a 32 Ford roadster model looking like the old Monogram kit. I would welcome more info if anyone could help.
  2. I would love a 1/25th scale kit of the Stuart Hilborn streamliner- the first hot rod to go 150 mph and the test bed for Mr. Hilborn's prototype mechanical fuel injection unit.
  3. I'm waiting for warm enough weather to finish painting the Hurricane Typhoon (aka the egg crate grille and the car behind it). Next will be the 1946 Power Wagon which will pull a large speed boat and trailer, also to be built. Then a model A roadster with a 289 Cobra engine and manual tranny. Finish the 62 T-bird, Opel GT, Lincoln Continental custom, several hot rodded Ford customs, several Ford hot rods, building all the Renwal Revivals, building a custom bodied Duesenberg, building the Stuart Hilborn streamliner- OK, that's more like a lifetime list but I will have a lot of fun trying!
  4. Ok, I'm stumped- where did it come from?
  5. Crazy weather- floods one place, fires somewhere else, mega snow, drought- tornados- hurricanes- ????
  6. Lived in St. Cloud MN for a year- minus 30 with minus 15 feeling warm- is that warped?
  7. Keep us posted!
  8. Looking fantastic! Will the body color stay flat?
  9. Nice weathering- really looks like a barn find!
  10. Interesting how many of us use kit goodies to help us build- nice work so far, looking forward to more.
  11. Post war Dodge Powerwagon- Ertl Collectibles 1/25th scale diecast. Available and reasonably priced.
  12. Were you able to save the side pipes? They looked pretty nice and could be useful on another project. It's always great to see an old original model restored and turned into a gem.
  13. How about wire wheels?
  14. A couple years back I tried going back and forth on builds- 4 or 5 at a time- then last year went back to focusing on one build- and it is actually getting done! I will then go to the next one in line, finish it, then move on again........ I do more scratch building and trying things I wouldn't have dared attempt years ago- sandwiching styrene stock together with white glue, shaping, then soaking the stock apart- modifying a part into something completely different- cutting cedar cigar wrapper into strips using a jig, for boat planking- will soon be attempting resin casting from rubber molds, and finally using an airbrush (need to get a compressor). Molotow pens are a godsend.
  15. Really like this! Great engine, great rear end, great stance!
  16. Scott, really enjoying your articles in Model Cars Magazine showing your restoration and improvements to the Renwal Pierce Arrow!
  17. Reminds me of Vic Edelbrock Sr's deuce. Yours is one sweet hot rod!
  18. Any updates? Found this build really interesting.
  19. Issue #211 is excellent! Thanks!
  20. That's good- I shall have to devote thought to that- which means I have fallen down another hole.............. Can you turn a hole inside out?
  21. Is the Warner Brothers portable hole applicable here? Additionally, is there really such a thing as a partial hole? It would seem to me that all holes must be wholly whole holes............
  22. Great build, love the colors! Plenty of mix and match parts in both the deuce and A kits!
  23. How about the Monogram Black Widow?
  24. Sheet aluminum is also useful. Beveridge cans are useful, but sometimes difficult to flatten. Any sheet metal shops in the area might sell you scrap, also a recycling yard. My late father-in-law gave me a tip about tools- buy them as you need them, instead of trying to buy what you think you may need all at once. I use nail sticks for most of my sanding now, and have picked up a few useful files at yard sales- a chain saw file has been a most useful tool over the years!
