  1. This is a good idea. I may try this next sink hole. Charlie Larkin
  2. AK Interactive and Vallejo both have chrome metallizer-type paints. I think I might be trying one of those. Charlie Larkin
  3. So, I have a couple of possible projects coming up, and in order to do them the way I'd like, I'll have to cut up the interior tubs from early-era kits that have seats and everything moulded into the tub. What have people found is the best way to cut off the door/rear panels, particularly at the back seat, where getting a razor saw, even one of the small ones in an Excel/X-Acto handle is going to be quite difficult, at best? What have you found is the best way to re-assemble things? I was thinking of gluing a small piece of L-channel along the ends and perhaps the bottom, clearances permitting. Thoughts? Charlie Larkin
  4. The hard work continues to pay off. Charlie Larkin
  5. None of the shops in my neck of the woods got 208, or if they did, they were gone before I had a chance to get there. Can I order a back issue? With a semi-regular job again, I'll have enough to subscribe, and will probably do so in July after my next pay cheque. Charlie Larkin
  6. Absolutely remarkable on all counts. You should seriously consider bringing this to the final GSL next year. Charlie Larkin
  7. A very interesting approach to the conversion, combined with truly impressive workmanship. Charlie Larkin
  8. If you'd like, give me your e-Mail, and we can discuss. Also, I tried to order through Facebook one of your Polyhead A-blocks. If you can e-Mail me the details on how to order, I'd appreciate it. I can use at least two or three of them. Charlie Larkin
  9. I bought one of these when I was in high school. Been waiting for 30 years to get built. Perhaps it's time. Charlie Larkin
  10. That could be a good seller as a resin piece. Charlie Larkin
  11. I own a 1955 Coronet 4-door. I'd love to see a corrected 3-D model of that so I can build my car. Closest I could get was one of MCW's Custom Royal Lancers. Doug, I'm working a couple of possible ways to start doing some low-medium volume kit production that might be a little more economical long-term than 3D, and some of your subjects might be a good match. Let me know if you'd like to team up. Charlie Larkin
  12. Cool trick for the trunk hinges. I'd go with the stock rallyes in the '67 kit. They look right on the build. Instead of the maroon, may I suggest Tamiya Italian Red, or even simple Testors Gloss Red? That, with the red interior (which can be made with Testors Flat Red spray) would look very much like the brochure car. The maroon would be a bit dark. Charlie Larkin
  13. I like this color scheme. I think it's a good choice. Charlie Larkin
  14. Definitely a good tip. Charlie Larkin
  15. After that IH COE, I'm betting the next big release will be a recreation and upgrades where needed, of one of the 1958-'62 annuals that don't have any extant moulds. My guess is it'll be either a 1958-'60 Lincoln, or the '58 Ford. Both seem to be fairly popular on eBay. I also wouldn't be shocked to see a Buick or Pontiac. Charlie Larkin
  16. Gorgeous car. Charlie Larkin
  17. Outstanding. Charlie Larkin
  18. This is conceptually interesting. I'll be keeping an eye on this. Charlie Larkin
  19. This is coming out beautifully, Niko. Charlie Larkin
  20. I wonder how tough it would be to fit the stock wheels/tires from one of the glue kits to this? Charlie Larkin
  21. This is coming along. The engine is gorgeous. Charlie Larkin
  22. *Artist's rendition of actual car. I've always seriously wondered how Palmer managed to manufacture models so far off. I'll keep an eye open because I'm curious to see what happens to this. Charlie Larkin
  23. Interested to see what you do with this. I do like that color. Charlie Larkin
  24. Having seen a few of these built over the years, they're nice kits and look great. Removing the plating from the parts is....penny-pinching, at best. Charlie Larkin
  25. So more or less what I was thinking. File that redesign under "oops." Charlie Larkin
