Dale I like your Shasta. Spent a few weekends in one of those, the best was going Smelt Fishing in Canada with my dad, my buddy and his dad. It was pulled with a mid 70's Chrysler wagon, not sure what make it was. One year my dad had to sit along 75 in the middle of Detroit as we had a flat tire on the trailer. That was fun looking for a tire on a Sunday afternoon. LOL I also have both of these but never thought to put them side by side yet.

Now this is awesome.

It was the over pricing that got me. Do what you want with what you have but 15 bucks for a set of tires. He is probably just on vacation. LOL

They scraped them in the seventies when times were tough. No one had a clue of the value in years to come.

I finally got around to getting these two side by side for a reference as two the two boxes. If the Falcon was a promo as it did say pre assembled model in the flyer.

This is cool. I like the paint job on this. To bad the quarter is so rusty. Shame the hood was used for a sled, but I will tell you a Pinto hood is a fun ride behind a 3 wheeler back in the eighties.

It has been said the JoHan employees were also owed money while still working. That is why they did what they did. That is according to the guy selling stuff at the Detroit shows who claims to be one of the guys that cleaned out the place after it closed. He had a big supply of bodies and parts just no complete kits.

Nice work . That was a great price for this kit. The trailer is worth that easily. One of the kits my late brother built back in the day, because we like the old Jeeps here in the Toledo area.

I think it may be just whatever they have in the molding machine at the time. I have stripped chrome that was clear also. The black may also just be all the regrind because it is getting plated.

36 dollars to ship 9 kits is not bad at all. That is a big box even of you break them up in 2 boxes.

There are three Hobby stores in Toledo area. Two are in the burbs. One has had Moebius the others did not. It is farther than the other stores so I do not know if they still have them.

All good points Joe. The 2 AMT kits that I have that are different bodies than the box were purchased at swap meets so you never know. One is the 65 Chevy Wagon kit with the 63 Impala body ( other have posted about this problem) Made in 2000 in China. The other is a 62 Catalina kit (Chrome and windows only correct parts) with a 65 (?) 442 body and interior. Made in Mexico in 1998. I posted place of manufacturing and date just to show era of kit. It is what it is as they say know. Both opened way too late to do anything about it. Being that I purchased them at a swap meet not much I could do anyway.

I think all of those kits used the same molds for these tires. I am surprised that with as many of the trucks that used the tire back in the day we have not seen a good version. Have you check any of the Jeep kits? CJ-7 had them on them around here back in the day. Maybe the were just a local favorite in Toledo though.
