  1. I like this John. This is how I figured all trucks would look by now.
  2. Maybe epoxy would hold better. This kit has been on my bench more than once , but I could not get enough clamps to hold it straight. One day.
  3. Rodger this is coming out nice.
  4. The 917, the Countach, and half of the Ferrari's look like they were designed by Palmer to begin with.
  5. I love this Scott. I said we played it I didn't say I like UNO. I do not play that anymore but I like the burning of the cards trick.
  6. Being one of 11 kids growing up we didn't get any fancy board games for us to lose the parts of. (We always had socks and under wear as kids, that was important. ) I was just talking to my sister about game night and the card games we liked to play. Water Works, Pit and Mille Bornes when we were younger. Uno , Phase 10 and a few other when we were older.
  7. My brother looked at a comet for sale in Toledo about 5 years ago. The guy that was flipping it had the original title with the car. It said Edsel on the Title. So that car had to be an early 60 sale.
  8. Toledo Police DepartmentLike Page 1tS7t Splehoennrsshuored · On this day: April 30th, 1974 Toledo Police Division acquired 40 patrol cars with air conditioning to be used on a trial basis. There had been much debate and several studies that found that the interior temperatures in the cars could approach 120 degrees on some summer days. #toledopolice This is from another social media source. I found this interesting that it took this long.
  9. Another piece of art( yes another truck cab they will never give us in Plastic) from Charles.
  10. Guilty of this also Scott. Love the card game you picked up. Spent many an hour playing Mille Bornes even as an adult. Definitely a car game.
  11. That is a good question. I am sure there are or were plenty of kids that would have built a kit of dads car that was not a Chevy. but still a GM.
  12. I had no idea they still used that name. I was just a search to check for dates. LOL
  13. http://www.hobbylinc.com/Pactra-Hobby-and-Model-Paint Is this current?
  14. I would think that testors came out on top because they were in all of the bigger stores as well as the hobby stores and hardware stores. I do not recall seeing Pactra around here at all when I was growing up.
  15. I do not think the cost of a parts pack is the same as a kit for a few reasons. Before I go on I will say that we have been taught that was the truth about everything for decades. I am going to speak of a newly tooled engine parts pack. 1) CAD because the files can be moved and transferred over from any already designed engine and parts. 2) They can cut more than 1 cavity into the mold because the molding machine platen size will allow it. Maybe even 4 to 6 cavity's So every time the mold closes they have 4 to 6 parts packs to sell not just 1. I would not be surprised if they could have an 8 cavity mold for engines. Now I will say that the packaging is where the costs have not changed much, they still have to stuff them in the box and wrap them. Yes it is faster to put the parts pack in the boxes, and they can also put more in the case to ship back, that part of the overhead is what it is. I agree with Luc on the 3D part in new tools.
  16. If you can walk out for under 70 on a decently optioned mid-engine sports car that is a deal. There is a Chevrolet dealer maybe a 1/2 mile inside of Ohio that my older brother worked at years ago. They have always sold a lot of Corvettes there because the GM Hydromatic plant is less than 5 miles down the road. Not that they are the only people buying them but it helps. We are on lock down so when I can I will swing by if I have time a see what they have sitting around. They normally have 2 to 4 sitting on the corner out front. Dave White in Slyvania https://www.davewhitechevrolet.com/ they only have 1 new vette and it is an 2018 .
  17. Welcome aboard. There are some very good builders on here. just not me.
  18. Beatles Mania in the 80's. Oldest brother tool me. he ended up with an extra ticket so I got to tag along because he knew I liked the Beatles. Then I got to see ZZtop in 83 with Pat Travers opening the show. Another brother won tickets so I got to go. At the Toledo Sports Arena, that place is gone now. Best show Stevie Ray Vaughan. In Ann Arbor MI. Seen him on a Friday night and then went to see Don Henley on Saturday in Toledo. Biggest surprise Winger opening for Deep Purple.
  19. Thanks for clearing that up Dan.
  20. My buddy has a 1969 Z28. that he put a cowl hood and rear spoiler on it when he restored it. The guy that ordered it did not check that box. But he did get the rubber bumper up front.
  21. Dwayne you are off to a good start with your brass frame. I have used this in the past and it is good stuff, but it is harder than most fillers. I have found it strong even when thin also.
  22. Looks very nice Steve.
