  1. That is some kinda odyssey you went through for that conduit load to become a reality. I applaud efforts like this, and although I don't build this type of model ( I do have a LaFrance pumper I may break out this winter), I can certainly take a moment to write a few words when I see all out focus. Well done Sir...
  2. Thanks brother, you can see I'm having fun without me having to say so I suppose. And that song is exactly what I was thinking for the first model. I could have gone with white here and that certainly would have worked, but then the song.....
  3. It is high time I got in on this Salvinos thing. I just looked at their offerings and these new cars look fantastic. Fair to say that Salvinos has arrived as a kit maker.
  4. I didnt read the article but am I to understand that the up top material is a ladies stocking? Brilliant! And your execution is what sells it. And it is in scale to my eyes. The rest is equally as nice. Just all around greatness here. Well done Sir....
  5. That is just killer. And you took a car that could have become a parts bin and made it into a sweet car for the shelf. Well done.
  6. Thanks Tony. If it elicits a grin or a chuckle then I've accomplished the goal of these kits.
  7. Thanks for letting me in on why. My reasom is similar. I didnt feel I was ready for such a momentous task. Your answeisis just the fodder I need to crack open a box or two and revisit my old nemesis. Thanks for taking a moment to answer my rather pointed question. It makes posting here worthwhile.
  8. Great rusting here. Did you use the Vallejo kit or cobble together your own paints and powders?
  9. I get airbrush fatigue from time to time so I hear ya.. Rattle cans to the rescue, just like this one here. Nice save.
  10. Great color choice on this one. Orange is a color I plan on painting more. Sits just right in the pumpkin patch.
  11. Got the parts and decals in the stash for this one. You did a great job on it. Inspiring...
  12. Scott, do you mind sharing your eBay ID so I may look at your offerings. Shame we Still can't sell here......
  13. 2 weeks eh? An amazing result in such a short period of time. I'd call that focus. Beautiful...
  14. Like the man said.. Understated.... My kind of build.
  15. Beach Bunny needed some bling as her outfit was far too plain. I was going to do some flowers but that would have necessitated removing her and I am not taking her off. So what do you do? If polka dots were good enough for her purple bikini before then they are good enough now. It adds just a little more pizazz..
  16. ThIs is a fantastic project. The details are so well done. Get R Done....
  17. Such an amazing beginning. Why did you put it away if I may ask? We all have reasons why we do this. Sometimes when we revisit them we have forgotten why. I have done it, perhaps most of us have. I recently opened a 1/4 built project and thought "Why did I stop building this?". I am glad you are back to it as it is so ambitious and is something I am struggling with myself. I have a project that is ready to go with everything I need but the gumption to press forward. Perhaps this build will inspire me. Keep on, I will be watching and cheering you on.
  18. Nice detailing and the color choices agree with the eye.
  19. I'm having the most fun building these old Hawk kits. Yes, they're goofy to the 10th power, but much like a Tom Daniel or Ed Roth design there is something inherently right about them. And to think it has been said Americans lack culture. We Americans know how to have fun and that is a fact. I cannot wait to rip the cellophane on the next one. And THAT is what my early years of building were all about.
  20. You made lemonade from a real lemon. The upgrades did the trick. I like it.
  21. That is a beauty. I have one 90% there and for some reason it fought me all the way..
  22. Can't get enough of those fins. Love me a 59.. Nice color choices and so clean.
  23. Who dat says snaps are for kids? Well done Sir...
  24. Two of Daisy's well known assets.... Both of those are excellent.
  25. If I saw this coming at me on the road I would pull over. Never know what might fall off into the road or my car. So well done with a good backdrop could easily pass for 1:1.
