The last week the ads have gotten worse on my phone (I use my phone 99% of the time). Now I have a drop-down ad banner at the top that is becoming annoying and having the same problem with full page ads coming up when I click on a topic or go to my mailbox. Also getting a string of ads at the bottom of each page. No ad blocker here. Not liking it, but for now it is tolerable. Later-

Revell 1957 Ford sedan gasser #4478
Modlbldr replied to Deuces's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Looks great! I need to figure out what parts are missing from mine and build it as a gasser. I know it will need an engine. The Tbolt engine would be a good idea. I should pick up one of the new releases too. Later- -
Revell 1957 Ford sedan gasser #4478

I haven't bought that version but I have a parts kit of the 57 Ford Custom (two tone blue car and black car on box cover) missing the engine and some small parts. I don't believe the version I have has the Gasser front suspension, but I could be wrong. I also am currently building the gasser wagon version as a stock wagon. Both of these kits are nice. I highly recommend this series. The wagon has practically fallen together. Chris at hpiguys workshop on YouTube has built the version you are asking about. He does a kit review and build. Great way to see what's in the box. Looks like a great kit. I am looking for a couple more of the outside mirrors to use as bases for a scratchbuilt roof rack, if anyone is building the gasser version and is not using the outside door mirror. Again, great kits. Highly recommended. Later- -

Now that gave me a laugh. How often does something like that happen? Glad you found it. Later- -
I can't wait to watch this one. Love the shape of that body. Later-

So, small update. I have been trying to round up enough of the side mirrors from this and the other Revell 57 Ford kits to get 5 bases for my scratchbuilt roof rack. I am still short a couple, but here is the start of it. I also tried my hand at scratchbuilding a vintage ice chest for the back. Not a bad go at it. I have a resin one or two on the way. Whichever ones I don't use will go to other projects. Next up is to make some scale vintage road maps. First pic is the roof rack I am using as a model. Enjoy the pics. Later-

Rex, Glad to see it finished. Happy that I could help. It turned out fantastic and I like the detail work you put into the wheels. Yes, not what you would expect for the Mach 1 build. Later-

1972 Chevy Blazer Custom
Modlbldr replied to Koellefornia Kid's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Nice idea for a build. I've got a few of these in about the same condition that you started with. Gives me plenty of ideas for them. Thanks. Later- -
Thanks for sharing. Although obviously well below the status of a "kit" that most of us would build, we all know or have children that, as you stated, are into cars or building. What a great subject to help build their interest in the hobby and you have shown us what is out there to help us do that. Thanks again. Later-

I just read through this entire post and love the project you have going here. I have a couple of these 20's vehicles to do someday although I am certain mine will be more OOB. My vote is for one of the last two paint schemes you posted (I really like the third). Now, time to go BACK to sleep....hopefully! Later-

What is the actual color you painted the car called? Looks to me like the color shifting paint. It is difficult for us viewing it through a picture to make an accurate assessment because it obviously is not the same to everybody. If we knew what the actual color was we could make a better call. Either way, I like the color. Later-

Got a few parts kits from a friend today. Did a quick peruse of the boxes. Dan Fink Speedwagon, just missing tires and wheels as far as I can tell. An old issue of the Mod Rod kit, missing about 1/2, and parts from a 41 Chevy pickup. Later-

I got tired of tripping over it in my shop at work and trying to hide it from my boss. But I already miss it. Lol. Later-

Looks great! Must be the light but I thought it was green. I've got a parts kit that I am trying to come up with parts to replace what's missing so I can build it. One of my favorite cars. Later-

53 Ford
Modlbldr replied to BIGTRUCK's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I understand completely! A 41 Willys project I was working on a couple of years ago took 7 cans of Tamiya paint to finally get the paint job to come out right! Later- -
