  1. The McEwen photos at https://www.dragracermag.com/features/feature-tom-the-mongoose-mcewens-tirend-top-fueler-part-2/ shows the car much closer to the Garlits chassis than I remember. Still I wish they'd tool up new panels for the Ivo FE car. The old Garlits body always struck me as wrong. It looks too heavy. Also the rear of the chassis is wrong. Its fixable but it will take a couple of hours.
  2. The question everyone has......how did you prevent the tape from lifting the paint?
  3. Now the photos show.....they're worth the wait.
  4. Here's exactly what you're dreaming of.
  5. I don't have them from page 1 and 2. Those on page 4 are very educational.
  6. I wish all the photos were still here. Looks like a very interesting build.
  7. I remember this.......you really need to do an article on making a body out of aluminum. (inside joke from an old SLMer.)
  8. Oh yeah.....what I don't see are rough paint separation lines. Very nice. Your result is much better than I'd hope for.
  9. Guess my original issue Super Trailer has no value now.
  10. Pictures would allow it to possibly be recreated.
  11. Do you have any pictures of it?
  12. How you're doing this in plastic amazes me. The parts are very clean in fabrication and there's absolutely no glue. It will be almost a shame to paint it.
  13. Just stumbled upon this build. I've always overlooked this kit. Now I won't. It looks nice in silver. It looks like its going to be killer when finished. I'm curious as to how well the lines of tape pull up. I've seen several build ups of amazing paint and your pictures shoe me how to create them. This has the potential to be an absolutely killer build.
  14. I'm almost at the point where I'll be able to hook up my paint booth. As such I need to either put the booth on a table or taller legs. Do you find you get better results sitting or standing?
  15. No real reason to get excited for the automotive modelers. The Apollo astronaut will be cool to have available. The two weird things I see are the Star Trek Enterprise. AS long I can remember, that has always been a AMT license. Finally the Da Vinci kits. Neat kits that no one will buy.
  16. Very nice! Great story. I have two other cars I'd love to model. The Boggs Brothers funny cars and the Kentucky Moonshiner. Of course decals are the huge stumbling blocks.
  17. I looked at the Rod Shop Facebook site. Maybe this will help. Also, Car Craft did a feature on it after it was modified into an A F/X. I can't locate my copy. Maybe it would help.
  18. I've lived through a fire. While our home was considered a total loss we were able to recover a few things. From what I've seen, the losses in California is far worse. I can't imagine it.
  19. Nice model......serious question. Was this car body style popular on the round tracks. I remember Tri-5 Chevys, Chevelles, Novas, and Camaros but not the Impala. It was a whole lot of metal to throw around corners.
  20. I'll admit I was excited to see this post. He was one of the icons who I got to know through these posts. I learned a great deal about the hobby from Bob and others.
  21. Much nicer that I would have expected from a snapper.
  22. KILLER! Looks like it needs to be in a corner with a Cobra fighting for position.
  23. The sink hole seems a common problem.
