  1. The Pete 359 is Junior Johnson team too BTW....DW & Bonnet era not Elliott
  2. I WAS a HUGE Elliott fan back in the day. I met him when hr was driving the powder blue Torino at Charlotte Motor Speedway. A new guy driving a Ford was rare so I had to go talk to him and his brothers. Then a neighbor were I lived in Mint Hill NC, landed the job as show car driver for the Elliott's....I can say it was a F-350 and enclosed 24 ft trailer.....be cool to build too. That neighborhood was a great place........NASCAR flagman Harold Kinder lived a few houses over and Ms Tim Flock near me too....I even did some work for her. Talk about NASCAR famous folk!!
  3. You got the look perfect!!! I like it!!! Be cool if R2 would make a new body or two for this kit.
  4. Been dealing with Tom for 25+ years....never and issue, always ships fast. I've met Tom a number of times too....good guy.
  5. Very nice build!!!! I got to work on that project and worked with Sean on the decals too.....
  6. Slixx had a batch of decals that were very prone to this issue. It wasn't wide spread but I recall them saying something about it when it happened. Follow the advise about coating them.....hope it works!
  7. I agree the lower control arm with strut was 100% perfect for a Cup car. Maybe I didn't say it right. Thanks for confirming it was the LeMans car......doubt I have seen under it before!!
  8. What Wood's car is that???? The LeMans Torino??? Tube trailing arms were never legal in Cup. Just like the front almost stock lower control arms with forward strut........the rear would need to be production trailing arms. Hand made trailing arms would not pass......like said before by me and others a 1976 era Torino would have GM type truck trailing arms. If you want 1/25 scale in place of the 1/24 I used (looks fine) use two AMT 90's era Thunderbird chassis. I did this on a Moore Torino I built a few years ago. (two needed to get correct WB)
  9. Sean S does a lot of work for Moebius and Model King.....and he lives in Columbus.........I've not talked to him in a while...so not 100%...my guess.
  10. By 1976 99% of Cup cars were GM long trailer arms rear suspension and not the stock short arms.
  11. FYI I used a Monogram 83 Thunderbird chassis under my NASCAR build. It fits with very little mods and is more correct for that era. Good luck...I'll be watching.
  12. I have not used that set on a Mustang........but they are good quality decals printed in USA by a big decal printer, art work was done by Sean S. he does a lot of box art for MK and the old Revell. Hope that answers your Q.
  13. Another great one!!
  14. My nearest hobby shop is 2.5 hour drive........so ebay and amazon is where I go when I need paint but it will be a wgile until I can get to the hobby shop.
  15. Cool!!! I always had that one on my radar......
  16. After refueling was made illegal, pit stops in F1 started to get near the 2 second mark. But 12 guys, 4 lug nuts and tires that are super light, cars that don't weigh much....... Do like the Cup guys with heavy tires, half the crew, heavy cars and 22 gallons of fuel in 12 seconds is equally impressive. I enjoy both series for what they are.
  17. FB says he lives in France now?????????
  18. Another great OBSCURE build!
  19. I have a buddy....he started me build models 55+ years ago!!!! He does not post on the net as 99% of his builds are on commission. And his clients would be known to most people...but almost all of them do not want to be identified. But I have been with him on deliveries of completed projects. I'd call him a PRO but he does not call himself that. His builds are very expensive and the clients are happy to pay.
  20. FYI....the decals they bought from me that require a white undercoat.......they skip that step.....
  21. I have for too many years worked in the hobby business......I helped run two different hobby shops over the years.....back in the 1980's I bought kits at cost....which was $3.35 each!!! I bought a few! Then in the old days we would deal with a number of wholesalers......one offered us all his discontinued kits at $1 each if we took all 500.....we did! Still today I freelance work in the biz......and get items that way......... I won't talk about the 2K kits I sold a hobby dealer in 2017........
  22. Nice neat work on a cool car........ The history of that kit is interesting. The design guy at Monogram was a Mustang owner and Ford came to Monogram and basically funded this kit. I have a few in the stash...need to build one!!!!
  23. Like leaving out the needed white print in many decals????
  24. I bought a case of each of the Revell parts packs, 6 in a case, for about a buck per pack.....so not hot sellers......but they are very 1960's era themed and a little out of date.
