  1. Try a search of forum.....I know we have talked about this before....not very positive reviews IIRC
  2. The 1/1 stock coupe roof is a bit odd......very complex set of curves side to side and front to back.......then there is a complex curve of the 'C' pillars. check my 1/1 a few posts back!!!!
  3. Got notice they are on the way!!!
  4. Great info/pics!!! thx
  5. Oh....I agree........in fact I think comparing photos almost never really works. When I take the new Revell body out to the barn and my 1/1 46 coupe......it looks good to me. I think you have a good critical eye and have seen a good number of 1/1 cars. thx
  6. Don't leave us hangin Tim......what do YOU think!!!
  7. OK.....I got my kits Friday but had a family reunion and a car show this weekend. I got the kit out today.....and to me it looks 100% dead on. Not all will agree.....fine.....but I have done design work in the kit field and I doubt there is any correction I'd make to the Revell kit. You can take a photo that will show the Revell kit as correct or just as easy to take a photo that show the Revell kit as inaccurate. My PERSONAL opinion is it's a great tool modification. Notice my 46, same as 48, has the roof 'hump' some have accused the Revell kit of having!!!! Maybe Ford messed up in 46!!! Thanks
  8. Kinda sounds like the UNC staff member reminding all at the college that asking simple questions like 'Do you play golf' was racist and insensitive. Lets not get hyper sensitive over simple things.
  9. Love the 'Birds!! Nice work! Terry's Plymouth on US 74 Charlotte had one of each color in stock into 1971.....IIRC they ran adds i the paper offering them below sticker!! I told my Dad he NEEDED to buy one....he thought they were silly.......I reminded him for years of that 'oass'.......
  10. In the model train hobby people buy on speculation all the time. It's not looked down on.....Any one is allowed to buy when an item is produced....the fact you want one 4 years later means you may have to pay a price.....
  11. I have lots of Modlhaus product on my shelf and in my stash. I truly hate to see them go.......but fully understand. I've run model aftermarket businesses and it can run your life. The number of products they offered is mind boggling and will never be seen again. Thanks to Don and Carol.....God bless going forward.
  12. Don't want to shop there because they play 'Christian Muzak'.....fantastic.....means I get pick of the litter with my 40% off!!! I wish more folks in my area felt the same.......way too many kits sell out before I get to them!!! I figure we will soon see a '13 hours' type film exposing what's behind that Muzak!!!!
  13. Well said.....They do not wear their 'faith' on their shirt sleeves....if you understand that. And it is correct they play light pop christian based music.....but much of it is indistinguishable from typical retail muzak.....no in your face music, signage or verbiage. I boycott a number of movies if certain people are in the film. My loss.....or maybe the studio's loss of cash. Either way MY choice. I don't get om the net and rant about those actors....or the films....I just ignore and not pay my money. I wish Hobby Lobby was treated the same way. The retailer has done much less harm to this country than a number of 'famous' people have. I have a few friends that make a decent living working for HL......what's wrong with that?? Thanks.
  14. My kits are in the mail.....when they come I will compare to my 1/1 scale car and check the roof.....if wrong it will be easy to spot.
  15. Love it!!! I did a counter General model.......owned by two ladies from West Virginia...... General Grant!!!
  16. No....but the RR in my photo above is a RM kit based on the SB kit.
  17. NOT being rude........(showing my build) I really like this kit. Some say it's to simple....wrong scale (vs 1/25) but it builds well and looks spot on to me. I want to build a few more in other colors....but only one so far/ I'll be watching.....
  18. I have been in the hobby business in many different forms since 1980. It started working on my days off in a buddy's hobby shop to today doing freelance work for the manufactures. During the late 1980's I was part owner of DNL Hobbies which was the manufacturing arm of Deb's Model Emporium hobby shop in Charlotte NC. We did a lot of business with Steven's Intl. We even went to Steven's twice for big close out sales buying LOTS of OOP imported kits and accessories. IIRC Steven's carried our DNL line at one time. Good to have you here.
  19. His last FB post was odd to say the least.......it will never happen....
  20. Been tempted to try this since the 70's.....be watching!!!
  21. Future as clear since 1983.....no yellow yet....but could happen....someday.....
  22. I've had my own battles over the years so I fully understand. Prayers to you it all goes well with least down time.
