Excellent concept and execution. Have you seen the latest Ferrari limited-series Icona Monzas which combine past styling with modern engines and suspension?

Thanks Bill - At least you once had one. Thanks Lee Thanks Al - I have forgotten most of the details of the show but see there are episodes on YouTube which I am going to check out.

Thanks David - I am looking forward to her reaction. Joe is correct, the star was Patrick McGoohan. Thanks Peter Thanks Joe. Was not aware Patrick was US born. There are so many British born actors these days on US TV shows who have no accents - like Canadians !! Thanks Mark Thanks Ken - I have the Gunze Elan kit but did not want to rob that kit. Thanks Greg - Yes the interior is red. I have never had much success photographing red models.

Nice. I really like the color scheme of your finished model.

Thanks Tom. Yes The Prisoner was a very far out show for its time as were many other British productions and they all had cool cars in them.

This was a project I could not resist. While hiking recently with a group we kept hearing what sounded like a bell dinging. It turned out it was one of the hiker’s cell-phones but I said it reminded me of the half-century-old TV series The Prisoner. One of the other hikers then told a story of how his wife had fallen in love with the Lotus 7 the main character in the show drove. My hiking friend told his wife way back then that he would buy her a Lotus 7 for her eightieth birthday; never thinking they would ever live that long as they were only thirty at the time. Well her eightieth birthday is the end of April and he had no Lotus 7 to give her or even one for her to have a ride. I just happened to have a 1/24 Tamiya Lotus 7 kit in my closet that I always planned to build a Prisoner version if I ever got around to it so this seemed like a perfect opportunity. This might also be the first model I have built directly out of the box for a very long time – just paint and glue. The model is not an exact replica in that the real car had wheels that were used on Elans and Europas. The only extra detail I added were the ignition wires, pinhead shifter and license plates. I was very impressed with this kit, which of course should be expected with a Tamiya kit. It was extremely well engineered in that the front suspension went together virtually without glue and it is poseable.

Extremely well built and displayed.

I was not sure what I would see when I opened this post. An extremely creative and well executed idea. -
Two very creative conversions assuming the convertible is also a conversion. The full scale convertibles were produced by coachbuilder Henri Chapron

Another one of your great back stories. Porsche Speedster racecars have always been s favorite of mine. I have had a Fujimi kit in my stash for many years and have wanted to build a James Dean replica which is pictured in the very interesting web link you provided..

Great looking Deuce 3-W. I have one myself on the workbench. Always a nice kit to work with.

Great Looking model. I really like all eras of the Trans-Am series. Would be very interesting to see an evolutions of Trans Am Camaros over the last 50+ years. It seems like after a number of lack lustre seasons, the series is really doing well again.

This is the best collection of Chaparral cars I have seen since the 2005 Monterey Historics. Add my vote for separate posts for each model.

One of the all time best looking F1 cars and your build certainly does it justice.
-
Gorgeous model of a very attractive car from what appears to be a very good kit

Nice conversion. Have plans to do the same someday. While travelling in Cuba I stopped to look at a very well preserved Imperial beside the highway. The owner asked if I had any spark plugs !!

What a cool piece of model car history. The chassis is very well preserved and I even like the shoe box it came in.
