  1. Great project and introduction. Looking forward to seeing it at GSL in 2023
  2. I figured I had better finish the whole under body assembly to make sure everything fits. You can see how I removed the rear wheel tubs and shortened the interior side panels. I decided to build the Ranchero how I would have liked one to be if I had owned one as a young guy back in the mid-1960's with a hot engine, Torque-Thrust wheels, a floor shift and a tachometer. The FE engine came from a disassembled AMT '60 Ford and the wheels and tires are from a Revell Deuce. The dark green "upholstery" is kit decals. The door panel decals do not fit properly as the cut outs for the arm rests are too high. I did have to do some trimming to the leading edge of the dash to assure the windshield will fit properly.
  3. Great looking model of your very attractive race car. A model is so much better than a photo for bringing back memories.
  4. Arrived Victoria BC Canada today January 4/2022. Looking forward now to 211.
  5. Great project and I look forward to following your progress.
  6. Fantastic to see all your 2021 builds in one place. All are very interesting, well thought out and built.
  7. Three great models. I am glad i checked in as I realized I missed your 57 Under Glass. It turned out fantastic. Looking forward to more from your bench in 2022.
  8. As mentioned above I decided to separate the wheel tubs from the floor pan and attach them to the pickup floor and added molding on the side panels.
  9. Thanks Mike and happy New Year. It sure would have been great to see and hear those two gassers racing. Thanks Ed - I was sure pleased when the kit was re-released in white plastic. I was never happy enough with the more available AMT Willys to ever build one. It is very satisfying to finally have a SWC in the display case. Happy New Year
  10. Great looking cars with fantastic well detailed engines.
  11. Great thread. Enjoyed the models and the history.
  12. Incredibly cool and well done. Love the concept, the livery and the wheels.
  13. Really nice to see your old MB F1. It really was very shapely for its time. Mercedes always made great race cars and still do.
  14. Thanks David for your suggestion. I have decided to separate the wheel tubs from the floor pan and attach them to the pickup floor and will definitely use your suggested molding on the side panels. Seeing as the pick up bed area is the most significant aspect of this project I may as well try to make it as true to the actual Ranchero as I can.
  15. Thanks Misha - Happy New year to you
  16. Thanks David - Until I took these recent photos I was not planning to attach the wheel tubs to the floor but I may reconsider Thanks Jim
  17. Since I originally posted this WIP I have redone the pickup area. - The cab side door panel areas were separated from the rear side panels - A section of the removed roof now forms the rear bulkhead of the interior as the roof of course is the same shape as the lower frame of the rear window under which a small shelf was added - A new pickup floor was fabricated from smooth and grooved Evergreen styrene sheets to look more like an actual Ranchero floor - The forward pickup bed bulkhead is now a flat piece of styrene with a couple of sizes of half round Evergreen rod added below the lower window frame to simulate that area on an actual Ranchero - All the pieces of the pickup bed except the wheel tubs were glued together and to the body with the seams puttied which still need finessing.
  18. I sure like your Supra - something I have wanted to do
  19. You may have set a record for model cars built in 12 months. Congratulations on your 16 very interesting and well done builds
  20. Great to see all your 2021 builds in one place some of which I am seeing for the first time. I love your creativity and excellent execution. Looking forward to your 2022 creations.
  21. WOW That is quite the production line and all are very well built
  22. Great bunch of builds. All very well done. I sure like the first one - always had a soft spot for Scouts.
  23. Thanks Steve - Being retired helps and for some reason there seemed to be more free time 2021 !!?? All the best to you and look forward to seeing you when things warm up.
  24. Thanks for the travel advise. I be travelling for pleasure and have often taken a project to work on in the campsite. Thanks everyone. I really appreciate your comments and I am overwhelmed with the positive response to my models. I currently have a project on the bench which I hope to post a WIP update before the end of the year and get it completed early in 2022.
