  1. That’s a great model. First time we’ve seen any Firestone pad printed tires from R2? Cool.
  2. Thanks for all the comments! Here is a link to the WIP - engine kit included
  3. Very nice model. Excellent work.
  4. Yeah, I had no interest so I looked up the contents and was surprised at the metal stacks - which, I think, were like $7.50 from R2 for just the stacks.
  5. If you have a computer and printer, you can buy decal paper and print your own decals. It’s pretty straightforward. Just be aware that inkjet or laser printers don’t print white, so you need white decal paper. Clear decal paper works if you are applying to a white or light colored background. Bare Metal Foil, Testors and others make decal paper that is readily available.
  6. Beautiful models, Shawn. Awesome. Outstanding work on the engine details.
  7. Yeah, cool paint job. Nice, clean job.
  8. Oh, man. That’s nice. Steel wheels, whitewalls, purple flames - check, check, and check. Great model.
  9. I do not. I’ve had a few of the 1/20 Bandai kits but have sold them. They are cool subject wise but look a little funky to my eye. Hardly ever see any built. I never had the Corona - it’s a fairy rare one. Saw the eBay listing...$75 for a partially assembled kit.
  10. Here is my Revell Rabbit. Engine is from Clearly Scale. Wheels from Tamiya Skyline. Great little kit!
  11. Is it common nowadays to have to remove the cab of a truck to replace the engine? We had a Ford F-550 6.4 Diesel (I think the 6.4) that toasted the valves or something. Replacing the engine involves lifting the can of the truck off the frame...? You’d need a big cherry picker to get that done in the backyard.
  12. I like it. Great color choice. Excellent work on a challenging kit.
  13. Nice work! Looks very convincing.
  14. I grabbed a couple of the MPC Corvette Roadster kits - they come with 6 great tires, BBC 454, open steel rally wheels with no center cap, and 8 metal hilborn injector tubes. So, for $7.50, lots of spare parts. Also got the 1/8 MPC Honda race motorcycle...I’ve never built a motorcycle model, but it looks pretty neat.
  15. Awesome work, Dan. The color looks great on it. I really like the fact you actually had one
  16. Oh, “son of Dat” was early thirties with Nissan name started in 30s. Have to look it up for exact dates - but quite a while... I’ll look over in “Under Glass” for the finished product Dan! Fun little kit, isn’t it? Do you have photos of your Publica? I’ve never bought the model but thought about it a few times.
  17. Very cool. Great looking model. Great photos. Great work. I like the stereo systems Aoshima includes with these kits.
  18. “Set” is blue label ”Sol” is red label and I’ve done the same thing.
  19. There are two types of decal solution - well, maybe more - but anyhow... One type goes on before and helps you move the decal around and set. The other is a “hotter” recipe (I guess that what you’d call it) that softens the decal so much, trying to move it will damage the decal. Microscale makes Micro Set, apply first, and Micro Sol - the “hot” stuff. There are other brand with similar effects. You can apply Micro Sol to a dry decal if it isn’t conformed completely to the desired shape. Sometimes, depending on the brand of decal, Sol will cause the decal to wrinkle up and look horrible and you will think all is lost - don’t despair. When it dries it straightens out. Not all decals respond to setting solutions. I have terrible luck with new Revell decals. Some, like Motorsports carbon, melt right to the surface.
  20. Weird. It seems like that thing was on clearance racks (along with the MPC 74 Caprice) just yesterday - but your right, eBay sellers askin’ a lot! It’s not a super great kit either - cool and doable, but, you know, it’s old school tech.
  21. Do you have a photo of your car, Tom? Bugeye sprites are such cool little cars.
  22. I’m lucky to have a mechanic who doesn’t even charge me sometimes. He does what needs to be done. Nothing more. I hate that you can’t trust people though. Really buMs me out that there are always people around trying to scam others. I hate, absolutely hate, dealerships and their service centers.
  23. The main block was from a Tamiya Mini and the rest was scratch built.
  24. Thanks Dan. I love the patina of your old Bluebird. From what I gathered, these were pretty rare stateside - cool you got the chance to cruise around in one! Here are two photos that, hopefully, aren’t too bad of quality - the real ones are someplace in the PhotoBucket hole...
