  1. I used my polishing cloths to polish some clear plastic windshields, and they dulled them instead of polished. What gives? How can I correct this? TIA
  2. That is a beautiful build on that '57 Fairlane, just beautiful!
  3. Very nice job on that '62 Dart Jason as I just love dem Mopars! That '62 looks a lot better than the 61's did. I can't stand the looks of the '61 Dodge or Plymouth, of course to each their own.
  4. I agree with you Harry, and the same goes for cars stuck on the tracks. If a driver doesn't have enough space after he/she crosses the tracks, why even attempt it???
  5. While I've been to Salt Lake City back in '78 and even stopped by Mark Gustavson's house, I've never attended the GSL and somehow can't see the expense related to attending the show also. I've been to several NNLs and the older I get, the less distance I like to drive. Yet I do like to travel and my better half & I do vacation at least once a year.
  6. Between going to car shows & cruise nights, belonging to two model car clubs, I don't watch any car shows on TV. I've watched a couple in the past and it was five minutes of cars and the rest garbage & drama.
  7. Take it easy on me Lance as I'm a RETIRED construction worker. LOL! Very nice work there on that tool box.
  8. Yikes, I didn't realize it was your thread Lance as I was engrossed in the subject matter. Duh!!!
  9. I may have seen that Charger when I was at the Chrysler Museum back in the fall of '02, but I'm not sure. I'll have to dig out my photos and check.
  10. Wow, very nice job on that box.
  11. How 'bout this one?...............................................
  12. I just use a tack rag on the body before painting. I don't use any gloves, body armor, clean suits, paper suits, oxygen masks, or any of that stuff. I do try to remember to use my respirator mask though.
  13. I seem to get good results using Spaz-Stix in a spray can whether I'm spraying plastic or resin parts. Your headers came out nice.
  14. After going to a friends wake yesterday and seeing a lot of people dressed in "picnic" clothes" which didn't sit too well with me, I had attended the funeral today and there were a lot of people, and 98% of them were dressed up like I expect people to dress for wakes & weddings. I was very well pleased as this was a very good friend not only of mine, but for many others as well. May he R.I.P.
  15. I have bought parts from Speed City Resin and they look great. We also have a club member who highly recommends Speed City Resin as well. The only thing keepin' me from buyin' resin kits from them is the same as Modelhaus, I have enough plastic & resin to build already.
  16. We went on the Alaskan cruise on Celebrity Cruise Lines two years ago, and the trip was great. We also had a balcony so we could see a lot like whales, glaciers, float planes, and the Inside Passage. My better half would never book a cruise without a balcony.
  17. I've always liked the "formal nights" on cruises even though my better half can do without them. I've never done a Carnival cruise as they strike me as being on the bottom of the totem pole. However the Princess Cruise line belongs to Carnival and I've been on a couple cruises with them and really liked it, especially the Panama Canal cruise back in 2001 as it was a blast. If you haven't been on a cruise with a balcony attached to your stateroom, I recommend it.
  18. I most always wear a suit and tie for wakes, weddings, funerals, and even a baptism too. A few people asked me how I could wear dress clothes for a number of hours and aren't they uncomfortable. I answer no they're not uncomfortable if they fit right. I often can wear dress clothes all day long at above mentioned events. If "dress clothes" are uncomfortable, you need to see a tailor. When I got my first job at 16 I had to wear a white shirt and tie under my apron at a grocery store. I worked there for two years part time so that I could buy my first car, as my parents couldn't afford to buy me one or send me to college either.
  19. I know I'm a bit old fashioned and somewhat of a dinosaur, but I was at a wake today for a very good friend of mine, and it seems like some of the people there were dressed for a picnic instead of a wake. Jeans, Hawaiian shirts, white sneakers, shorts, and the temps were near 80 degrees and one woman wore boots up to her knees. My how times are changin' and not for the better in my book.
  20. You may find what you're lookin' for at a local swap meet also.
  21. While I have a couple multi-bin/drawer cases like shown in the first photo above, I also have ten shoe boxes full of parts as well. Two of the shoe boxes contain just aftermarket parts. I know that I could sort out the parts in the shoe boxes, but I'm really quite busy to become that well organized and I have a pretty good idea of what's in those shoe boxes.
  22. I've been picking up Hot Wheels cars at Wallymart and at swap meets for my grandson. I myself have really no interest in them. I remember that in the 80's I did play with my son and his Hot Wheels cars, but I believe they're long gone.
  23. That color looks like Tamiya Metallic Orange. I used to have a 1:1 '64 Chevy Stepside pickup as well as an '83 Stepside too.
