  1. Very cool idea. I could easy see this at SEMA.
  2. Amazing paint work.
  3. My irk was from yesterday. Recently I had headlight burnout. Fortunately it just required a new bulb and not a whole unit. Its a 2000 honda civic. Now for the irk there is very little space to work and it was difficult to get the bulb in and the latch secured. I did prevail. No wonder I see cars with burned out bulbs all the time.
  4. Cool project. Definitely a different cobra. An alternative to black would be an almost black blue. That's how the comics did the batmobile. Will be watching this.
  5. Happy Thanksgiving. I have much to be greatful for. All of my family is safe and healthy. None of my family of has lost their homes in the recent fire(Camp). Also very greatful for the fire fighters and other all the others that helped to keep so many safe.
  6. Well said.
  7. Great info. Thanks for taking the time to do this.
  8. The last week has been a sobering experience. The camp fire is the second fire in the span of a year and half that could have taken out my house and my sisters house. They were considering evacuating us on Sunday because of the wind patterns. The fire started on Thursday and I live more than 30 miles from where the fire started. The scope of the camp fire is staggering with almost 10,000 houses lost. Almost everyone I talk to has been affected directly or indirectly. My sisters pool guy didn't lose his house but lost 8 or 9 clients because they lost their houses. My niece works for property management and they lost that many properties for the same reason. Its going to take five or more years to rebuild. It also depends if the insurance companies will continue to insure people or if people will be able to afford the new insurance rates. Its hard to wrap one mind about the prospect of losing everything and having to start over. Yeah insurance will replace things but their are things that are family heirlooms that can't be replaced. There were a lot of people that got out with the clothes on their back. No time to grab anything. Forecast for Wednesday is heavy rain and possibly showers off on for a week. The good is it will help with the fire and clear the air of smoke(currently air quality is deemed hazardous for everyone). The bad is the potential for flooding.
  9. A great looking project.
  10. Love it. Definitely different. How about a 4x4 version?
  11. Nice work. Looking forward to seeing it finished. Like the way you made the chassis look more stock.
  12. Definitely exciting information. Looking forward to see where this goes. Thanks for the info Ace.
  13. For resin casting there are limits to how many parts that can be made(about 50 is the limit). Current production on model kits is 5000. There are limited situations that resin casting would work. One reason the parts packs failed was kits cost $2 and the parts parts were 69 cents(it took 5 parts packs to build a model). The big difference in price was cost for packaging. This will always be the case when it comes to parts. However the info on 3d printing and less expensive injection molds will certainly change the way some kits were made. As far a the software. The person who finds a way to make friendlier image modeling software will be able to make same good money. There have been some progress made with programming to use a graphical approach to programming. It will take a similar approach for printer software.
  14. On the second page Acegarageguy makes a post about composites for low volume injection tools. There is more on page 3 and following pages.
  15. Thanks Bill the video made my day. My understanding is the big and little cats are pretty much the same only for the size.
  16. Looks great. Its always fun to watch your cobra creations come together.
  17. Yup I agree. The letter was poor taste and poor judgement was used in the way it was published. I'm sure there were good reasons for not deciding to sell the business. It would be no easy task to find a buyer willing to pay the right price and be competent to run it. I'm sure that by not selling they missed out on making some good money.
  18. I agree. There was some interesting information in that thread. I had not had a chance to look at some interesting links provided. Hope it will be restored.
  19. Yup a picture is worth a thousand words?
  20. Besides the fact that the the limitations of injection modeling does not lend itself to doing only part of a kit there is the financial aspect. Even if parts could be made individually there are costs for packaging. In the end its really cheaper to buy a whole kit and trade or sell the ramaining. Adding a resin caster to the process would be as equally cost prohibitive. Again its cheaper to buy a complete kit.
  21. Very nice work. Super clean. Nice to see a factory stock 30.
  22. Very nice work. Love the period look. Like the color choice. Looks cool in white.
