Neat model! Once the dollar sank low against the D-mark, we no longer got Opels past mid 1970s. GM then imported a Japanese built version of the Cadet, and called it Opel-Isuzu. These were short lived, but we did have a bunch of Isuzu born Chevys for a while

I don’t use thread because it has no memory like wire. With wire you can bend and position it so it drapes like real engine wires. With thread it just springs like cat whiskers. There are plenty of options in the hobby. Several aftermarket companies sell wire, some thinner than others. Other companies sell prewired distributors, which makes it one step easier for a few bucks. I have used electronics wires too. Some guys will buy a roll of the correct wire, for a lifestyle supply. I would want to see a sample before I buy since wire is sold by the copper wire size and plastic insulation covering can vary in thickness, which is what gives you the appearance that will either make or break your model. I’ve had a few damaged cell phone charging cables that have yielded wire that was acceptable.

There are days I find nothing and buy an extra can of Testors Dullcote with the coupon. And I hear ya, if the lines look long I just leave! And if I do find something and wind up in the long line, I make sure everyone on that line knows about the coupon!

Many years ago a guy on the East Coast regularly displayed a trailer load of Dodge Omnis. Imagine building six of that kit? I imagine if you die and wind up in Purgatory they hand you a case of that kit!

Nice work on a fun subject! Maybe all the early 1960s Fords being built will inspire Moebius to continue their series to the older years. I’m getting inspired to pull out my pair of 1960 pickups. I’m thinking of using the step side from the AMT 1953 on it.

I pass one in King of Prussia, PA on my way home the days that Waze sends me that route so I stopped in. It’s a new store, probably open less than a year. Nothing to write home about... the kits everyone mentioned buying on clearance were all on the shelf there at full price.

Another vote for spray cans- I do own two air brushes, but for all the reasons stated here I haven’t touched them in years. I use mainly Duplicolor and Tamiya Sprays. I use Testors flat black and Dullcote. I also liked the now extinct metalizers. I’ve sprayed a few bodies with their Extreme Lacquers.

The individual posts and pictures do load quicker! The issue I still see on my iPhone is the loading of unread posts using the little newspaper icon at top of the screen. I believe it’s because it’s indexing a years worth of posts. I had sent you a note a while back noting that when I did the load manually and limited to 6 months posts, it loaded much quicker...
