My lost stuff only shows up after I buy a replacement!

I don't believe he has to or should. That would only fan the flames with some of these guys on the board. Remember there are folks who think a $10 profit is big money! Also note that Paul sells beautifully completed models on eBay. These often sell for over $1000 each so there is a ready market of people who will pay for quality.

Revell Land Rover Series 3 109 inch
Tom Geiger replied to GeeBee's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
That would be a good follow up kit for Revell! I'd love a pickup -
This came in the morning email from AAA. Thought I'd share it here for those who may not see it. It has opening hood and engine detail. There was a link to order in the email, but it went nowhere or I would've included it.

Cool Project! I've been looking for one of these Monogram kits for a while. When found today, they want major bucks for them! And of course the minute I plunk down that money, they will announce a reissue! I moved to Pennsylvania in 2009 to work for a British pharmaceutical company. One of the transplanted Brits brought one of these with him and drove it to work every day, right hand drive and all. His was blue. -

Progress Report! Here's how she sits on the work bench this evening. I've gotten a lot done, and have been slowed down by silly little details gone wrong. This week work reared it's ugly head and I was a bit busy. That and unexpectedly having my driveway paved. So it's not done. There are some details I don't like right now, so I'm slowing down and will try to get them done better. Again, the fit you see here is just a mockup, nothing is glued. And it won't get done this week, I'm going to Seattle again! -
We should be thankful for these glues today! It makes it so much easier to take apart old annuals!

New driveway! I hadn't planned this, but the paver was working in the neighborhood and offered me a screaming deal. I had wanted to expand the rear section, added 15' across, and solve some of my rain and drainage issues, so I went for it. Now I fit three cars across the back, and got rid of the soggy side yard.

Do you prime all pieces
Tom Geiger replied to youpey's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I had heard that the Testors metalizers were discontinued. I love to use them for different tones of silvers on models. And I agree, I don't use brush paints, I spray everything. When I need a little paint to touch up something, I spray into one of these small Dixie bathroom cups. They're cheap, so I keep a dedicated pack in the model room. They are also great spray stands! -
Scale Motorsport decals
Tom Geiger replied to RichCostello's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Neat! I have all the 1960-63 Ford pickups and have been itching to just crank them out. Maybe I'll use my decals like yours Steve! -
Scale Motorsport decals
Tom Geiger replied to RichCostello's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I own them but haven't used them. I read that people were using a hair dryer to form and dry them. Otherwise, like said above, they are just decals. -

Is the magazine getting back on track?
Tom Geiger replied to Bugatti Fan's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Ya know, it's bad form to use the board the man pays for daily, and then criticize him on his bandwidth. Have a little respect. -

Hey Mr MarvinGardens, real easy to poke the bear while using a fake name! Forum rules state you can have a screen name but must also share your real name. Gregg posted that and closed the thread just for this reason! -
Hey Everyone! Here's a great little show that's gaining steam every year! Contact Jorge Ramos for more information on the show. Contact me at modlcitizn@aol.com for vendor spaces. These are the guys who built this amazing diorama. Each show it has a different theme. The above photo was the display of Datsun/Nissan at NNL East. This time around the theme is Euro Cars... so bring out your Ferraris and Volkswagens! Please support this event. The Scalerz are younger guys who are spreading the word of our hobby to the next generation! You will see a lot more young folks at this show than at any of our traditional shows! This is part of the sustainability of our hobby that we all need to support. The show is for everyone, with all the traditional categories, and a bunch of vendors, so come on out!

It would help if you had a picture of what you are trying to do. I wouldn't be a fan of taping over the decals. I'd do the taping and painting first.

Trying to send a message to another board member
Tom Geiger replied to Monty's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Wow! I've never seen private messages in my feed. As far as the 404 Errors, you guys have hit it, something in coded items is causing the error. It can be as simple as using a character from your keypad that's used in code. The other error that was happening was when people tried to upload an image that was too large. That was the system refusing something over a certain size. Other boards I'm on do the same thing. -
Condolences to you and your family! She had a long life, may you be so fortunate!

Jo-Han Dodge Dart '62 Convertible - resto in "gold'n brown"
Tom Geiger replied to Tommy124's topic in Model Cars
Very nice! The scripts in the "dents" were out of scale anyway! A lot of Johan kits had that molding imperfection. -
Good to know. so there won't be any panel line, just the indent. I will modify mine to match. You do know about the spare tire, right?

Very cool project. The marriage is so obvious you know Ford had at least a design study on this back in the day. When you are finished, you could display it with some pseudo factory information on this rare one off car!
