  1. Too many apologies . . . that's a sharp looking AAR 'cuda ! It looks good in white !
  2. Very nicely done , and I really like that color option ! The license plate is cool too .
  3. Thanks Craig ! Thanks much Nick ! Thanks very much ! The Impala trim option was only on El Caminos built in California , much like one piece bumpers on '57 Chevys .
  4. Thanks Sam ! Thanks Lee ! Thanks very much Lou !
  5. The stock look is great on both of these Fords ! The Fairlane really catches my eye , so many T-Bolts around it's nice to see a very nicely done stock build . Beautiful color too !
  6. Thanks ! Thanks very much Steve ! When I could still see and wasn't all thumbs I did more than just "out of box" builds .
  7. Thanks Larry ! Thanks ! The 283 was really quick and it wasn't nose heavy like a big block would've been . If you go to my Fotki page you'll see how the body and trim was done . Here's the link : https://public.fotki.com/TooOld/models/cars--trucks/1960-el-camino/
  8. Thanks Tom ! Thanks Don ! Yep my favorite color ! Thanks much Roger !
  9. Thanks Ray !
  10. Thanks !
  11. Originally built in 2013 this is a replica of a '60 El Camino I once owned with a 283 4-speed , painted Roman red , and with Impala interior and body trim . The Impala trim was a factory installed option for El Camino's built at GM's Oakland California plant . I was never happy with the wheels & tires I used on it . Since then I've found the correct ones and two weeks ago it was time to change them out . As long as the model was being partially disassembled I decide to modify the front for poseable steering and lower the ride height . To accomplish all this the chassis would have to come out and the front and rear suspensions taken apart . Disassembly and re-assembly went smoothly with only minor mishaps . Both door handles fell off , so did the exterior mirror and the upper radiator hose . Of course the chassis didn't slip right back in but a little fiddling with the interior and everything was okay . I expected it to be much worse . To see all of the "in progress" photos and complete descriptions go to my Fotki page at the following link : https://public.fotki.com/TooOld/models/cars--trucks/1960-el-camino/
  12. Beautiful Jeepster , don't think I've ever said that ! The paint and detailing are outstanding !
  13. Sharp looking El Camino , the big block would be my first choice too !
  14. Cool idea and a sharp looking truck , I like it ! Careful when using a tack rag they can cause more problems than they solve , especially when used on models .
  15. Nicely done Lee , one of the best versions I've seen ! I wasn't aware the kit had decals for the camo . . . very interesting .
  16. Neat little wagon ! A bit sporty looking compared to the sedan model .
  17. Just finished a build by adding the mirror and saying to myself "This is for you Harry". . . sure do miss having him around here . Happy Birthday my friend .
  18. Thanks very much Alan ! I printed the decals myself .
  19. Beautiful work as usual Marcos ! Two of the finest Winged Warriors ever built !
  20. Now that's a seriously nice looking Top Fuel Dragster ! If it's 1/25th scale then it's even more impressive , great work !
  21. Thanks Al ! AMT had a habit of using the same decals in more than one kit . Thanks very much Tye ! Good to hear from you !
  22. Beautiful Charger and some really nice detailing ! You can't beat the Tamiya TS paints , been using them for years .
  23. Pretty sure that was on the cover of Model Car Science back in the 60's , I'll dig around and post it if I find it .
  24. Beautiful job ! I still think this kit has the best looking wheels and tires ever kitted .
  25. That turned out excellent , the gold and black really shines ! And I like the redlines too , gives it a Hot Wheels look . Also your idea for a display is genius , it costs nothing and looks great !
