  1. As a boxed kit.? Im familiar with the promo of that car . Warped and all
  2. Same here. I would like to have one, but not at crazy money
  3. Thanks, This is what I was looking for. When a kit of a 1.25th scale model car was 1st avail to the masses . The AMT-SMP and Johan years I was pretty sure of. But I couldn't think of anything on revell or any other possible maker back then . A few friends have asked me the oldest model I know of and Ive told them 1958 was 1st year. But it looks like I need to find a 1957 Ford ( anyone have pictures of the original ) I have all the 1958s AMT-SMP convertible annuals produced and I think the only 1959 I'm missing is a Oldsmobile . Actually have most of the annuals up to about 1963 or 64 ps, when did the 1st issue 1959 El Camino appear ?
  4. Ok, Ive wondered about this for some time. But maybe someone more knowledgeable then I can answer with certainty . As it pertains to mass produced model CAR KITS as they are known today . What is the 1st year ? I think 1958 for AMT/SMP. and 1959 for Johan .I have NO idea for Revell . Waht about pickups trucks , 1959 ,or 1960 ? Not including promos for the 1/1 manufactures ( think they go back into the 40s ) Or plans , ships or military, Simply model car / truck kits as we know them today
  5. Ive seen those exclusions on SOME sheets. You will also find there are paint chip sheets specifically for the body styles the paints are avail for . It just seems to be kind of random
  6. The model I built ( using the exact same paint the 1/1 is painted in ) and the actual car it represents
  7. Steve, B9 was avail on the full size cars. Not the intermediates Intermediates were B3 light blue metallic , B5 medium ( or sometimes called bright blue metallic) , and B7 Dark blue metallic In some literature the colors are referred to as Poly instead of metallic Mopar - the higher numeric number on the code = designates the darker the color is That 68 is probably EE1 , also a very dark blue ( I just restored one in the exact same color combo for a client last year ) In pictures EE1 and either B7 or maybe even B9 will be hard to tell apart unless looking at them in person . But trust me, they are VERY different if applied correctly Also, in regards to color availability . NONE of the exact same color tints avail in 1968 are the same as what was avail in 1969 ( its one of those weird Mopar things ) more info here http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/paintChipCharts/1969PaintChipCharts-01.shtml http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/images/dealerships/colorAndTrim/1968/68_Charger0002.jpg
  8. Whoa, nellie. Im not an expert. Just a Mopar fanatic that's been around Mopar Muscle cars pretty much my entire life. Edit, I'll add here. B9 wasn't a listed avail color on B body cars. But I'm not saying that particular paint color wasn't avail on a B-body. MOPAR did have a special order paint color program but it would carry a 999 paint code . And a friend of mine is well versed on Charger 500's and I dont remember him ever mentioning a 999 paint code car
  9. B9 ? on a b-body ? !st Ive ever heard of that one. Probably B7 , the Bee across the street is most likely R4
  10. I hate to say this aloud. But the Scout kit is kinda cool. is that El Camino a 1964 or 65 ?
  11. For me, first and foremost. I am a Mopar guy. so they rule my display cabinet, followed extremely close by vintage drag cars. Even better if its a vintage Mopar drag car Occasionally I build outside those 2 genres, but to be honest its not much Although I haven't touched a model in probably 6 months and odds are it'll be another 6 before I can think about it.
  12. All the time. One of the reasons I enjoy the old annuals. A lot of them don't have an opening hood so there's no engine to worry about anyway The older I've got the less important super detail builds have become. I build for me
  13. yes kinda maybe sorta . Box is kind of neat. Not sure I would pay extra for it. And regardless of box this kit is all over ebay , but by the time postage is figured in. puts it at $35 and up. I dont want it that bad . Im more a $20-25 range and less kid of guy
  14. Now this is one I actually would like to have
  15. Nice work, Love the rainbow Cuda
  16. Dude, You need to quit posting pics of 1/1 cars and claiming them to be models WOW,
  17. Agreed, Ive already filled maybe a half dozen with unbuilts putting some not so expensive builders on top in the boxes as filler .
  18. IF it is fact 1.25th.I want a couple of them . Anything else I 'might' get one. but not likely
  19. DAAAAAAM nice looking car. my all time favorite color combination to
  20. I have a few of the 500 kits as well as several of the MPC Daytona kits ( they grill is on same chrome tree ) So Im good But I will have to ck and see if I have an extra/spare hood ( not likely )
  21. If they did I cant find any reference to them offering one . Ive been searching for days and the only one I come up with is Reliable resin and I am not going there
  22. No, Nothing body panel is the same between the 2 bodies Fremont resin makes stretched wheelbase 67 Vette, but its a fastback. I'm thinking I may buy one of them and cut the top off and add the rear deck off a roadster or make my own from a 63 roadster back half and the 67 fastback front half. decisions decisions
  23. Depends on how good your skills are. IMO the easiest to locate route would be take a LA Dart kit, cut the front end off it and graft it to a AMT 1971 Duster. Hardest part would be making the tail lights or just buy one of several resin bodies avail out there
  24. All the time. Thats how I end up with multiples of some of the early annuals I have . After buying a second ( or a third ) I finally decided to make up an excel list in the computer. Of what I have, when I bought it, costs and what parts if any are needed. Age tends to play with ones mind when I get to a show and see a part ' I THINK ' I need. Recently a kit on eBay caught my eye and I thought I wouldn't mind having one . So I put it in my watch list. Then a couple days later was rummaging around the model bench storage area. Low and behold found out I already had that kit. Huh, lucky me . It was Heller kit of a Citreon something (early 30s car )
