I give up. What is Ollie's? Never heard of them where I live (Florida).

The are a closeout store. Inventory is constantly changing as they buy distressed or bankrupt store inventories. Nothing glamorous, just some bargains if you shop around. They have been known to buy model kit inventories and blow them out cheap anywhere from $7.99 and up for kits sometimes still on the shelf at hobby shops and retailers.

Yep, Ollies routinely has the Lindberg Dodge L700 kits for $26. No matter which version, tanker, flatbed and just the truck. I've never come across the box trailer version there, yet.. My local hobby shop sells the newest releases of these for $44. A while back they had nearly all of the Revell "trucks" line for $8.99, Lindberg snap police cars for $5.99 and the Lindberg 97 Ford F-150's for $7.99. I even got a Lindberg 06 Dodge Charger SRT8 Super Bee for $6.99

If you read the fine print, Ollie's didn't buy the leftovers from Toys 'R Us.  They bought inventory from manufactures who lost Toys 'R Us as a customer, probably stuff they were planning on selling to them over the summer.  I was in TRU a couple of times over the last Christmas shopping season, the stores here didn't have a lot of things even then.  What was left for the bankruptcy sale was probably just dreck and dross compared to even that...

In the last few years, the only automotive plastic model kits I ever saw were the AMT Ecto 1A and the Revell Snap 2015 Ford Mustangs. This might vary by region but it should give some idea. No Ollies out here in CA.

I lived in CA a long time and remember the closeout chain Pic 'n Save, which was similar to Ollie's. Pic 'n Save used to get bunches of discounted model kits.  I still have some I bought there, including an AMT '36 Ford "Dick Tracy" 5-window coupe.

Then Big Lots bought out Pic 'n Save and model kits disappeared completely from the stores.  There's a Big Lots near me in SC. Never seen a model kit in there.

Pic N Save......I could always get Mom to buy me a kit there!!! This was the 1960's and the kits were 99 cents.....but great memories of that store. We lived in Whittier......

Was at my local Ollies and grabbed two L-700's for $15 each.

I'm going to have to hit my local Ollies and see if they have dropped the price. It was mid July when I saw the L700 truck only for the same price as the truck/trailer kits. I always leave Ollies with a kit, even if it's one I already have multiples of. You just can't beat the price.

Hmmm, I popped into my local Ollies yesterday and they barely had any kits at all.  Do you think the kits you picked up were recently added to your store?

I wouldn't know as I don't get to the Ft.Wayne Indiana Location often, But they were adding a lot of toy's ect to the middle isle's of the store these kit's were on an end cap, along with the surf wagon and Lindeberg ship kits! They had the shelves filled well with the Vette/Camaro kits along with the surf wagons.. BTW they also had the spy car kit as well as Revell quick build #48,88,and #22. and other kits

Hmmm, Ft. Wayne is only an hour or so from Round2's/Autoworld Store's location...maybe someone is dumping the slow selling inventory through Ollies...

Ohhh, that makes that kit interesting. A convertible SS...hmm. If I recall, Lindberg and AMT only offered the SS in hardtop form originally. Hopefully round2 eventually does the Firebird kit with the Firehawk parts.

Thanks for the heads-up, guys!  Just visited the Ollie's in Anderson, SC.  That store had the kits shown above, except for the '57 Corvette. None of those. But it did have these for $9.99:

AMT Deora - 2016 issue with corrected bed cover, gold-letter tires, booklet etc.

AMT '71 T-Bird, "Bird of Paradise"

MPC '75 Corvette roadster, with the metal fuel-injection stacks.

MPC Stroker McGurk "Ghost of America" Salt Flats car - with Stroker figure, Spandau machine gun and Allison V-12

The store also had the Dodge L-700 with chrome fuel tanker trailer.

No "new" models at my local Ollies, not one--just the dregs of the last blowout. But I'll keep checking them every week for a while--they're right on the way to Hobby Lobby anyway.

Stopped by the Fredericksburg  VA Ollies this afternoon and they were pretty well stocked.  Mostly old Lindberg Dodge tilt cabs $15 though they fixed the price on the ones with chrome tank trailers to $24.  Mercedes SSKs, Hot Rods, etc. and the rest were Revell pre-painted kits like the Corvette, Mustang, and Challengers.  I bought the 2014 Corvette for $9.99. It is my first Revell prepainted kit so I am curious to see what it is like.  Surprise, it is not painted at all but molded in red!

Our Ollies in North Central WV has almost the same kits as what James just showed.  We have a few less.  An employee told me they would be getting more toys in due to the buyout of Toys R Us, (I know, no models).  She also said she thought there would be more models.

We got a new end cap here in SW Pennsylvania, none of these were in the first "blowout" of kits that had all the Danica NASCAR kits and pre-paint Revells.
