I stopped at the local Walgreens Pharmacy a couple of days ago to pick up something else and bought the only model car they had.  It's a 1/24th scale black Viper coupe by Maisto.  As with most, it's unfortunately made in China.  The price was $10.00.

Good price! I think I have a blue one of those, and I paid more than $10 for it.

Yah, most if not all diecasts are made in China now. At least any you can afford.

I have not been active in this part of the forum for awhile, my apologies.  My daughter-in-law came to visit tonight and she brought me these. I immediately put them in a display case. Two of them are Franklin Mint. I will leave you to guess which ones. No rot, and in pristine condition. Her grandfather gave them to her and her brothers but they had no interest, but they thought of me. I can do what I want with them. Have not decided if I will keep them or not. The mint ones are absolutely stunning.

The Kaiser came from a local die cast toy show.  1/18.....only missing the passenger side mirror

The Range Rover is a 1/24 from Rite Aid....once I got through the transaction with the snotty cashier

Love the bike models.   Those are always fun to build.   The 57 Mint car is pretty nice.  I've flipped several of them.   They are pretty easy to sell if you can find dirty ones to clean up for cheap.   And they are a good looking model to hold onto.   Jag is nice model as well, just not my thing.  I've flipped one before.  Not a lotta value to them unless you have all the stuffings.

The Mint cars are beautiful and appear to be all there. I do prefer plastic though, and have permission to do with them what I want...so they might get turned into something I can build.

I also love the motorcycle models. Best of the tamiya kits in my opinion.

Gramps, got one of those 40s recently too. Its a good looking car except those dang dog leg hinges. Used it to cannibalize a few parts for my 40 convertible. Haven't decided what I'm going to do with the rest. I have a Danbury mint purple and yellow flamed 40 hot rod, might do a body swap.

Think is my first post here.  Mercedes Benz C-111, made in Spain.  Paid way more than it's worth, but it's nice to have one on the shelf.  Thought I would use as reference for a project that I have in mind, it makes that plastic kit look even more horrible.

In 1962 a high school classmate gave me a ride in his '40 coupe.  I have been kind of fond with the '40s ever since.
