espo Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 This would almost be worth it just to see if you could get away without getting a ticket.

Snake45 Posted July 30, 2019 Posted July 30, 2019 Technically correct. Factually correct. Common-sense correct. Correct! On a somewhat related note, yesterday I saw a sign I love: "Common sense is now so uncommon that it should be considered a super-power."
youpey Posted July 30, 2019 Posted July 30, 2019 Honestly what is defined as a green vehicle. I mean I have a stupid Ford fiesta that gets over 35mpg. I got its cause it was cheap. Is that a "green vehicle"

"Green" spaces are not legally enforcable. Not here anyway. This came up when Ikea put some green spaces in front of the store. Around the same time, a high end restaurant in town put up two signs that said "fancy car parking only." Oh, the outcry was huge! And amusing.
Tom Geiger Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Technically Correct reminds me of a story.... Once upon a time a helicopter was lost in the fog in Seattle and couldn't find the airport. It came upon a tall office building and got the attention of the people inside. They wrote up a quick sign and flashed them "Where Are We???" The building occupants scurried and posted back a sign of their own that said "You Are In A Helicopter" The pilot immediately went into action and found the airport. The passengers asked him how he found the airport from that information... He replied, "I knew it must be the Microsoft building because they gave me technically correct but totally useless information." And he knew how to get to the airport from there. I was out in Seattle a few times this month and chuckled as I rode past their building..

Looking into the future HOV lanes will probably have "Green" added making them HOGV lanes. https://www.epa.gov/greenvehicles/learn-about-green-vehicles
Joe Handley Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Hmmmmmm, I wondered about this.....I can park my 200 in the Green Vehicle spots after all! If anybody questions me on it, pop open the gas cap and let them take a whiff of corn liquor

And amusing. Private properties can get away a lot of things here, so in theory, in some states, a car that is park in a reserved spot for "green" vehicles could be towed at the owners expense, as long as its clearly marked such and I think I first warning must be given , but again, that is going to vary by each state. As for public parking spots , yeah, I have no idea if they are legal on city/state/county owned land.
Faust Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Awesome. I'd like to know, though, why that's not discrimination on the basis of vehicular choice...
Ace-Garageguy Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 I'd like to see what would happen if somebody parked a supercharged 500 HP '32 Ford hot rod running on pure hydrogen made using 100% solar electricity and wastewater in that space. You can't get much greener than that.

You can't get much greener than that. That's the reason I haven't parked my 200 in one yet, only idiot proof way to tell it's flex fuel is to open the gas door and look at the yellow Flex Fuel models specific gas cap. Only other way to tell on the '12-'14 200 and Avenger is to look for the dual tip muffler like mine has, which also is the only way to tell which ones have the 283hp 3.6l V-6 and 6 speed auto vs the 170hp 2.4l no matter which trans it has 1 hour ago, Faust said: Awesome. I'd like to know, though, why that's not discrimination on the basis of vehicular choice... It's basically the same idea as Handicap, Expecting Mother, and Military Vet parking, but for those of us that have bought electric, hybrid, flex fuel, or dual fuel vehicles. If you pay attention to what's on the road, there have been a good number of flex fuel cars and trucks made and with the exception of some years and models of Mopars, most will be badged as such and should (keyword there) be ok to park in these spots. Hybrids and Electrics are usually pretty obvious as well, only ones that would be tricky is Dual Fuel, which is normally CNG since they don't look any different from their gas only or flex fuel siblings and would require a decal or badge to make it obvious that they can run CNG.
