maltsr Posted December 3, 2019 Posted December 3, 2019 Here's an original Airfix 1/24 Aston Martin DB6 that I was fortunate to purchase from a late friend's collection. Painted Tamiya Metallic Red over their red oxide primer, the kit doesn't look too bad considering its age. Unfortunately one wheel was missing, so I used some Tamiya Jaguar wheels and tyres donated by another mate to enable me to finish the build. Big sink holes on some bumpers so these were filled and covered with BMF.
Matt Bacon Posted December 3, 2019 Posted December 3, 2019 Wow! That looks excellent. I've done the same with Tamiya Jag wheels, as well... they are really good! Very crisp detail work, and the engine looks brilliant. Nice choice of colour as well; it's good to see one that's not Silver Birch... Great job! best, M.
Snake45 Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Very nice, very cleanly built! I don't think I've ever seen one of these finished before. Well done and model on!
MrObsessive Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Very nice! This is the first I've seen one of these done! I've had this kit for many years now and it's good to see this one done up so cleanly. If I ever get around to doing one, I'd like to put on Fernando Pinto's excellent hand laced wires which I have a couple sets. Very period correct for this type of car.
slusher Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Gorgeous model and very impressive!! Love the color choice!
djflyer Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Excellent build and great color choice. This certainly makes me want to dig mine out of the stash.
Deathgoblin Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 It looks amazing! Very nice job on an old kit.
geetee66 Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 You knocked it outta the park! Really great finish. You did this old kit real justice ??
89AKurt Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 I have the Revell DB4, so can say I've never seen one of these. Looks AWESOME!

Funkychiken Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Beautiful build, not sure I've ever seen this in a kit before!
Rich Chernosky Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 Nice build on an old kit. Didn't know Airfix made one of these. I have the MPC kit.
Dann Tier Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 This is the first one of these i've ever seen built......and you did an AMAZING job on it!!!
1959scudetto Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 well done, Paul - I've never seen this one built - color looks like the Dubonnet red of my Danbury mint DB5.
Can-Con Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 Beautiful car. Man, I gotta track one of those down !
