Ain't it the truth! I've been laid off since the first of February* and loving every minute of it. Just finished my 18th project of the year. I wouldn't know there was a "crisis" except the talk radio people talk of nothing else now.

*Had nothing to do with coronavirus. I just came to end of my "3 to 5 week" temp work gig after 11 months. I had no complaints. B)

I've been homebound since Feb 14th! Had my surgery on Feb 10th, a few days in hospital, then home. February I was not really able to walk or move much, and had a doctor imposed driving ban, so I was basically self-isolated in February. My driving ban was lifted a few days before we were told to start self-isolating and keeping social distance and all that. Been getting a lot of bench time in!

Although I agree with it I will have no choice but to work, I’m considered essential personal and work no matter what... Peeps want water I have to work...

I’m housebound and feeling like a trapped house cat!  This has been a game changing week. Just last Saturday we were wondering if this would all blow over. And now there is no end in sight.  I haven’t felt like doing much of anything.

I’m working from home. So a lot less time commuting and more time working on models, reading, and remodeling my bathroom.
Sounds like we (Washington State) are going on a little more serious stay home order on Wednesday, so less going about.
Thanks to all those still keeping the essentials running. People never thought night time stockers at the grocery store were so important!

Been working from home since thursday last week.  I've been tinkering with model kits between calls.  Got my 1962 Chrysler 300 convertible torn down and repairing.  :)

Day 7 here, almost day 8.  NYC is now in some kind of quasi-lockdown where you’re meant to stay indoors unless you’re buying essentials or exercising.  My wife has been home all week and expects to be here for two more at least.  I’m getting the same amount of model stuff done as usual because I’m here most of the time anyway, but it sure was quieter around here in the daytimes until this happened ?

Still, we’re safe and healthy and thankful for that.

Oregon has gone into essential personnel only mode. My boss is trying to figure out if we can still work since we provide emergency repair services for refrigerated food storage. He does want to keep us away from crowds if we are sent out. He says the company has plenty of cash reserves and accounts payable to stay afloat. Hopefully I do too. If I am told to stay home, I have an AWESOME WIFE and plenty of models to build.

I work for a natural gas utility so I'm right there with you. They're changing some of the ways we do things but I don't think it could ever get to a point where I don't have to go in. I'm fortunate I guess, I'm our only income so if I got sent home we'd be in a bad situation.

Ok,not really sure about anybody else, but the depression is really starting to creep in.Yes I’am trying my best to stay indoors as much as possible, but as humans,we are social beings, and being isolated can really mess with some of us.I mean when I say not to go out,I don’t mean board up the house and lock all the doors and sit in the dark.I mean being around other people, friends, neighbors, etc.Im single right now.My three cats died in the last couple of years ago,and my father is at his gfs house for the time being.Hes making me swear that I don’t go out and that I keep away from as many people as I can.Ok,I understand his paranoia,he’s 82,although he looks like he’s half that age.Idk,good genes I guess.Anyway,I told him I would stay close to the house and stay away from friends. In fact my brother and sister are also causing me stress, because they’re saying things like if I get my old man sick, they’re gonna track me down and kill me.Lol.I live with him ever since my mother died and I found out my girl was cheating on me a few years ago,and we split up after 8 years, yea that sucked..I guess my point is,what do I do.I work independently, and that had to come to a grinding halt for right now.Thank G-D money is not an issue. But this just really sucks.Yea I’ve got my car model projects, but I really lost interest in that for the time being..I guess I’m gonna start using my phones “Face-time”,but it’s not the same.Like hanging out with one of my buddies in his garage, sipping on Coronas, and talking about cars.I love my father very much, but on the other hand,if it wasn’t for him,I wouldn’t care, and I’d be out and about.Idk,like I said,I’m starting to see purple people in my house(Lol,losing what’s left of my mind,??)Ha.Cookoo for Cocoa Puffs.Anybody else starting to crack up a bit?Jeeze...

Other than grocery shopping and trips every-three-days to the fuel station for a pack of Marlboro Reds , I stay inside .

In reality , this isn't much different than my usual routine before this fiasco ( hahaha ! ) , as I tend to be a hermit anyhow .

Growing-up as a Latchkey Kid , and as a member of the Blank Generation , I'm used to going it alone anyhow .

I'm not allowed to leave the house. my anxiety is through the roof as i have some of the high risk conditions. Right now I am the most stressed i have ever been in my life, on the verge of a panic attack and have been since thurs. i cant sleep right and I'm scared to go to my docs. I hope i can do an appointment over the phone so i dont have to put myself at risk or my mum and sister as they have conditions too. me and my sister have both moved back in with mum for the lockdown so at least we aren't alone. I've got some kits with me to build but the motivation just isn't there just now. stay safe folks, think of others before you decide you just have to go out, we are all just trying to get through this with some sanity intact. the fear is the worst thing with this

As of now, I'm doing well.  We aren't under house arrest like some countries and states, Arizona is counting on the honor system.  I'm already set, since I'm self-employed, work at home (separate office out back), no employees to worry about, lucky to have more work than I care but trying to not complain, have been buying paint and kits and such for awhile so have a fresh supply and about 300 years of kits.  I've also had a lifestyle change past few years, I was a barfly going out several times a week and shooting pool and drinking and karaoke, met a woman, which changed for the better in several ways, now I'm not hungover and tired all the time, and have money for models for some reason.  So I'm sort of hoping the copy shop will have to close for awhile so I can have a legit excuse to only build models.  I can be a hermit, but this internet wrecks my image as being anti-social.  As of now......

The whole not leaving home thing isn't bothering me yet, although I wasn't feeling good when I got off the phones yesterday and went and laid down for a few hours, then since I felt worse by the time we had dinner, I checked my temp before going to bed and found I had a fever of 100.3°?

That said, I woke up about 5am cst and feel much better right now! I am going back to bed until I need to be up to get back on the phones though.

About the same here, they really have just changed a few things but other wise business as usual. My wife won’t be able to go in here soon so it is a good thing I work no matter what...

I have been out of work going on my second week.  I drive a school bus and had sort of thought about retiring at the end of this school year; each year the kids get more obstinate and unruly than the year before.  Anyway, this government-imposed layoff has got me to rethinking that.  I love my wife, but I really miss those few hours out of the house with other people.  We are not in lockdown yet, but our governor seems to like to be a follower.  He has already shutdown all eating establishments (drive-through only), yesterday he shutdown beauty parlors, barber shops, and tattoo parlors.  Guess I will have to grow a "man-bun" until this is over.  Got plenty of kits to keep me busy, but just can't seem to get motivated.  My bench is in the basement and it has not warmed up enough yet to build without wearing a jacket.  Am I getting "cabin fever"?  Yeah, just a bit, but as soon as the weather breaks a bit I will be able to get into my garden, mow the lawn, and do other outside chores.

I'm not upset, I'm actually getting a lot done now that I can stay home in the evenings. I'm indoorsy anyway so this is right up my alley.

I normally travel almost every week, usually by air, but that all changed three weeks ago. I have been "grounded" since March 5 and working from home, which is what I do when not traveling. I have been keeping busy answering emails and working on customer's requests for product information, but at some point that will dry up. They haven't said when we will be cleared to travel again but I would say it will be late April at the earliest. All employees who can work from home have been directed to do so, even though we are considered an "essential business". I have been working at the bench more and have grandiose plans to get a bunch of WIPs done and just may surprise myself and a bunch of you !

This crisis will end and hopefully people will heed the warnings and directives and the medical experts will find a way out of this for all of us. My immediate concern is that many small businesses and service workers will suffer the worst of it.

We got back from 10 days in Mexico on Friday, so this is day 4 of the currently prescribed 14 day self-quarantine. I am retired so normally spend most of my time back and forth between the garage and the basement anyway. I know economics don’t allow it, but if everyone stood in one spot for 2 weeks, most of the infected ones could be identified and treated. Hopefully someone can come up with a vaccine soon. Stay safe everyone!
