Oldcarfan27 Posted June 28, 2021 Posted June 28, 2021 How does he even see around to drive. Endless blindspots! But at least he'll be in shape when he does have an "incident".
NOBLNG Posted June 28, 2021 Posted June 28, 2021 Well that is just Strange. Is He/She a Vet? Obviously they are trying to make some kind of statement…what that is I have Nooo idea!?
keyser Posted June 28, 2021 Posted June 28, 2021 It’s an Art Car. Dunno where OP is but it’s a funky thing. Been ongoing in Houston for ages. Semper Fi obvs old Marine with sense of humor https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houston_Art_Car_Parade
peteski Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 Must be really hard to wash that thing. Forget waxing! Must use touchless car wash.
Redisetta Posted June 29, 2021 Author Posted June 29, 2021 This guy has been around with this “car” for a few years now ,he just keeps adding to it, today is the first time I have seen it in quite some time. 1
Brian Austin Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 It's a shame that people who dare to work outside of society's box are met with suspicion and derision. I spent a day at an art car even years ago and the people were fun to be with. Just ordinary artistic folks who happened to paint their cars up in funky ways or glue things to them. Art cars bring joy. 2
peteski Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 Like this I'm not making fun of the "skull PT". Just surprised seeing it. Yes, I made a semi-joke. I didn't think it was nasty. Not all art is the same either, and not all art is understood by all folks. I don't see "art" in Picasso's paintings either. Still, his "art" is highly prized by others. Our models can also be considered "art", especially those highly modified or scratch-built ones. 1
PowerPlant Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 (edited) How can this thing be registered and legally driven on the road? Last time I checked, something hanging off a rearview mirror is not allowed in the US. Edited June 29, 2021 by PowerPlant
ChrisBcritter Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 I'll freely admit to taking part in such a creation - twice; first time at the Museum of Contemporary Art when the public was invited to glue all kinds of little items on a '76 Cutlass sedan (haven't found a photo yet), and second when I was part of the crew that glued some 22,000 mirror tiles on the now-sort-of-famous Disco Pinto: I mostly worked on the driver side front fender and the passenger door. 1
David G. Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 Having all those things items glued to a car would certainly discourage tailgating. Not my style but I appreciate the effort and results. David G. 1
slusher Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 That should not be allowed to driven on any public road.
JollySipper Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 You guys that DO like art cars should check out some of the creations people take to the Burning Man festivals... 1
keyser Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 Funny. Lots of USMC stuff on it, and bulk of stuff is skulls. Prob therapeutic for PTSD guys, and fun for everyone I know that has one or worked on one. I’ve seen Disco Pinto. Cool you worked on it. 1

Art cars bring joy. No disrespect meant, especially if the owner is a vet. But just because it’s outside the box doesn’t automatically make it art. Each to his own I guess.?♂️
keyser Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 Pretty accepting group too. Here’s Art car museum in Houston. https://artcarmuseum.com/gallery/artcar-gallery/#lightbox[rel-92-756457798]-24
Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 The title alone told me not to look but I did anyway. When will I learn to listen to myself?
