Gramps46 Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 I wanted to include the 1965 Daytona Continental winner GT103 in my GT40 collection. I modified a LS kit to more closely represent the first GT40 race winner by changing the headlight buckets and replacing the rear body panel. 1
TarheelRick Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 One of my all time favorite cars. Very nice looking build, really clean work.
Snake45 Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Very cool, very sharp build! Well done and model on!
vamach1 Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Very nice Gary. As you know I built the Aurora kit and gave up on my LS kit because of the things that needed to be corrected.
Dave B Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 Looks great Gary, as we have come to expect from you! Dave B
Zippi Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 That's a looker Gary. That deep blue looks really nice and clean.

My GT40 collection is approaching 33 with 4 more to finish. I will be posting photos called The Evolution of the Ford GT40 when those remaining 4 are finished. Thank you for your interest. Gary 1
absmiami Posted August 12, 2021 Posted August 12, 2021 only half in jest - did you ever mis-place one? did you ever look at the shelf and think - wait a minute? where is the 65 Sebring car ?? Salt Lake City '23 ?? abs
absmiami Posted August 12, 2021 Posted August 12, 2021 Speaking of which - there is a wonderful photo feature on the Gooding auction site of an Alan Mann ‘66 GT40 lightweight - one of the Sebring cars - has anyone kitted these Cars ?? many changes fr the factory GT40’s …. Great potential project …

Great potential project … The Alan Mann lightweights have been tempting me for a long time but I have never taken the plunge. Chris Hale started one a couple of years ago but I do not know if he ever finished it.

1959scudetto Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 Very sharp model, Gary - you gave me some idea with replacing/reworking the rear panel ( I have the ARII release of this one, and it is that primitive tht I wanted to get rid of it)

I substituted Fujimi head light buckets and added a panel to the tailpiece. Gary
1959scudetto Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 Thanks you, Gary - I think I will take your route some day.
David G. Posted August 30, 2021 Posted August 30, 2021 A clean, tight looking build, well done. David G.
