Gramps46
Surprise – Not a 1966 GT40MKII but a 1955 MG EX-182, a prototype for the MGA. Ken Miles and Jonnie Lockett drove their MG to 12th place in this ill-fated race. The model is a Strombecker MGA in 1/24th scale (sort of). A very simple kit which was issued as a motorized model, using 2 AA batteries. It had posable front wheels and a sticker for the dash. I added Herb Deeks PE wire wheels and tires, a passenger side tonneau cover, plus a few other details like the driving light in the grille and various vents.

Tony, I think Strombecker was an early (1950s) follower of the JADA school of scale measurements.😉

1959scudetto
Very nice model, Gary - I would really like to see all of your old racecars! A new 1/24 plastic model kit of an MGA, Triumph TR 4 or Austin Healey 100/4 (or 3000) would be great, too !
