espo Posted February 14, 2024 Posted February 14, 2024 "Some assembly required." The original car in a create. Like the idea. 1
Street Rod Posted February 15, 2024 Posted February 15, 2024 Great job on the Jeep and putting it in the crate is a super cool idea! Coloring outside the lines! 1
NOBLNG Posted February 15, 2024 Author Posted February 15, 2024 (edited) Thanks Guys!? You may have heard about the “Jeep in a crate” legend/scam? https://www.warhistoryonline.com/war-articles/jeep-in-a-crate-50-the-legend-and-the-truth.html I picked up the built jeep for $5. I’ve built one CJ-2A and didn’t want to go through all the work correcting this one too…so I took the easy way out. I had to scratch build the seats and the brake drums, and adapt the die cast tires from another project to some jeep rims. I spent more time on the crate than I did on the jeep.? dragstk Posted February 17, 2024 Posted February 17, 2024 You had me scratching my head with the first 2 pics. But that is a great build. Nice job!! 1
Zippi Posted February 23, 2024 Posted February 23, 2024 Very kewl. I remember watching a video years ago of the Army dropping those and the assembly. The Jeepney's in Southeast Asia and elsewhere are probably some of what the Army dropped back in the day. 1
1930fordpickup Posted February 24, 2024 Posted February 24, 2024 Looks like it is a good Box Stock entry for the next show. I like this idea. 1
