Scott, here is your Valiant with the AMT 71 Duster chassis and engine bay in it. Chassis wheelbase does need to be cut down a few scale inches.

yep its a nice swap, i just used the 71 duster chassis under my 66 barracuda.

Came in the mail today from Lithuania.  I'll post up some pics of what's in the box in the review section.  Paid $47 plus postage, $67 total.

Man, that is so neat and different!  Great find!

While its "beauty" may be in the eye of the beholder, this is certainly a well preserved kit. Just polish to plastic and add some chrome trim and it would make a great shelf sitter.

I agree completely. That's exactly what I'd do with it.

Can't wait to see what you do with this one John.

I know it won't be just polished plastic and foil. ??

Nice find John!!

These are really tough to find!

I spent gobs of money on my un-built kit a few years ago.

Still one of my favorite builds.

And yes, I did just polish the plastic and detail it up. ;)

Traded for these locally today. 1/32 Volvo Coca-Cola truck and trailer ( built decals needed to be put on) Revell '69 Camaro convertible, and a 1/64 Greenlight Olds vista cruiser wagon ( no photo of that).

Got the US rebox of the RoG Land Rover Series III 109.  Biggest difference I’ve noticed is it is molded in white instead of gray.  Same instructions and decal sheet.  Box is smaller so it’s hard to get everything to fit back in after opening.

Picked up an engine from the '65 Riviera to fix the '63, plus a set of its wheels and tires (the triple-stripes will go to my '69 Galaxie). Now I just need a set of plain Buick nailhead valve covers and '63 Electra wheelcovers.

I got a Revell/Monogram Jaguar XKE coupe #0556, and Aston Martin DB4 #562 1/25 kits from the late 90s for $35 for both. Did I get a good deal?

$17.50 each?  Definitely a good deal.  Both are old, out of production kits. They're based on Aurora tooling from about 1962.

If you could buy them at Hobby Lobby with a 40% coupon off of retail, they'd be $17.99 each (this week!).  I try to keep current kit prices in mind whenever I'm thinking of buying old kits at swap meets, eBay etc.

The ex-Aurora Jaguar gets walloped because its nose is out of shape and it has other issues. But even if you don't want to fix that, it's a great parts source: an independent rear suspension, pretty nice wire wheels, etc.

The Aston is a neat and unusual kit.  At a kit swap meet, I bought a glue-bombed DB4 just to get the set of matched luggage that goes in the trunk. It wasn't glued in, fortunately.

They aren't based on Aurora molds. They were produced by Revell/Monogram using the actual Aurora molds which were obtained in 1977 when then-owner Nabisco sold all plastic kit tooling to Monogram.
