Yesterday I went to the Pacific Northwest Model Car Fest.  Did not see anything in the swap meet that I did not already have or not in the interest zone.  Did enter 5 models and came away with these

Thank you!!  I didn’t catch every single winner (although I think @Six is associated with the club and could maybe post all of them) - but the ones I was lucky enough to get a trophy for are the last few pics on the last page of this album here:

https://public.fotki.com/NewYorkSpeedShop/scale-models/model-shows-contests/midwest-glue-crew-g/

I tried to get a pic of about every build displayed, but I wasn’t organized enough to note who exactly won which ?

Thank you! Lots of good looking models there, but I kinda meant posting pics of your award winners. (I can see the trophies in your trunk ?)

Haven't posted here in a while. Here's my cumulative haul from the last 2 weeks from various online and brick and mortar sources. Most of it was bought at some type of discount.

Junkyard lot from Mike's Decals.  Shipping cost almost the same as the purchase but still came out to under $13/kit.

After spending about 4 hours yesterday perusing the “Tips & Tricks” section I stopped by Harbor Freight today during work and picked up these 2 items.

I too made it to a show today; the Midwest Glue Crew show - and it was a great one!  Chose these for myself from the swap meet…

This bag of ‘Mopar parts’ for $5 was actually a complete-but-for-tires Revell 29 pickup kit:

Very lightly started, but not VERY started…

Picked this up, because I’d been watching for one - complete bagged AMT BTTF Delorean kit…I have an Aoshima (I think?) kit of the third-movie car, so it’ll be interesting to see how the two compare…

Even came with a little green tube of grease for a working whatever must need grease…

And I always enjoy digging thru the bins of parts - grabbed a bunch of seats, tires, geegaws and a bunch of molded-in-green radiators that were worth paying 50 cents for probably:

And I was lucky enough to take a couple of class wins, which came with kits as prizes too:

They were also kind enough to gift me a $25 gift card for the local hobby store, G&G Hobbies…plus a couple of these gorgeous acrylic display cases / stands from the second event sponsor PF Plastics:

And finally, a nice cutting mat to replace the little 11” on my bench currently:

I’m a lucky guy!  Couldn’t fit all the swag in my trunk come home-time:

Great show, and a great club - definitely recommended to anyone who finds themselves nearby for any future events they hold!

That's quite a haul.

My 1st show in 3 years too. It was good to see you there Sam.

I came away with a lot more models for the money. I bought 2 for $17 for the pair. $40 worth of raffle tickets netted me 12 more kits before I gave the rest of the tickets away to a couple of kids.

I felt bad, but I out bid you on one of the lots. The 66 Chevelle wagon was so sweet I could not pass it up. He was a really prolific builder.

In the show, I managed to get ribbons on 4 of the 10 entries I brought.

I am still kicking myself for forgetting to bring my phone for pics.

Ohhh, haha…I won’t hijack the thread too much but the last few pics here are the ones that they liked:

https://public.fotki.com/NewYorkSpeedShop/scale-models/model-shows-contests/midwest-glue-crew-g/page6.html

?

Keeping the thread on-topic somewhat - got a delivery today of Tamiya polishing compounds.  @Plowboy recommended them to me, and I was impressed with his results…a little under $30 gets you their three stages and they seem to work pretty well for speeding up paint polishing process.  Impressed!

Purchased from a fellow modeler, on my trying to find a meyers manx kit in the UK. My purchase after discussion included the Subaru and the Corvette needing tyres!

 photo-vi.jpg

The Manx I also need to take templates for my own scratchbuilt beach buggy project.

Nice finds Pat. 22B ftw. Love those things. Manx too. Wish Tow’d would return.

Yes the Tow'd one has always been elusive, so I've not seen one here in the UK!

65 Chrysler 300 promo found at an auto parts swap meet last weekend. Been looking for one for a very long time. Will rebuild as a curbside.

65 Cadillac found the week before at a flea market. Missing the interior and front suspension. Been looking for one for a very long time also - now I am looking for an interior :) .

Did some trading with a local guy last night, tbh I was very surprised he even had this! The only thing that appears to be missing from the kit is the engine, well specifically the block and heads. But no worries for me.

My club had a Swap Meet last night. I sold 6-8 kits and a few parts that I realized I'll probably never get to or use. Picked up these two kits to fill the hole in my stash.

I am beyond happy !!!! I preordered this and it was shipped on Tuesday. Got it just now. I had the old one when I was a kid. I hope I can do better now.
