And scribers? I guess that's what you call them.

I have these. My spouse asked if I wanted to become a part time dentist. No.

They work very nicely. My advice is that if you drop one, let it fall to the floor. I grabbed for one that I dropped and did a great job of puncturing my thumb trying to catch it.

Thank you for the heads up Steve. Now if I remember will be the trick. LOL

Thank you Carl. 🙂

Just since it was 40% off week and I haven't been in a while, went over to the local HL. Was looking for the '64 Olds or another Nova wagon; no joy. Got a HUG '66 Cuda, a kit I've never seen before at HL, and a Revell snapper '57 Chevy I have an idea for. Was pleased to see my HL still have two racks of Testor paints (the third one is gone, sadly), so picked up a couple bottles I can use.

Picked this up on clearance today. Seven and a half dollars. Box said it was missing tires. It is also missing the clear tree, the custom wheels and the tree with the concrete blocks and tire rack. Still good enough for me.

I think I've got some tires that will work with this kit. Windshield looks easy enough to fabricate something from thin polycarbonate. Will have to get creative for headlight lenses.

Picked up this lil’ rebuilder from the local Goodwill for the grand total of 49 cents:

Sure I’ll be able to have 49 cents worth of fun with it somehow...

Also, grabbed this for a couple of bucks...wondering if I can tumble aluminum parts to give them a satin finish - or maybe tires to buff the shine off them?

The motor doesn’t spin so I’ll need to do some disassembly and see why it’s not working...looked basically brand new when I opened it though, so hopefully it’s a simple fix...

if the tumbler has been used i wouldn't be surprised if the motor is choked with dust, I used to fix my mates one and thats the most common problem, followed by excessive wear on the motor brushes again caused by trapped dust

That’s what I figured, yeah!  Gonna strip it down and see if it has a piece of a geode or something stuck in it, or a really dirty comm.  Came with a whole bunch of rocks tho! 😂🤪

Cool deal! Have you ever done a quick, simple glue bomb "rescue"? Looks like a good candidate for one.

Thrift stores are great.  The little town near me has 6 or 7, including a Goodwill and Salvation Army.

A purchase sort of like your rock tumbler:  for $2.00 in a thrift store, I found a metal embossing kit.  Some of the embossing plates and tools were missing but I didn't care about those anyway.  The kit has bunches of very thin metal sheets, aluminum, brass etc.  I'm pretty sure I can use those for something.  Maybe dented fenders and such.

Stopped in at Des Plaines Hobby yesterday afternoon to drop off the last few model railroad items of my dad's, and broke down and grabbed the Pontiac GTO Super Stocker. Paying retail is normally anathema to me, but it's a good store and I wanted to give them a little more business before I move back to CA soon.

As I've mentioned I built three of them in the late '70s, but with bodies from the AMT '57 Chevy, '56 Ford and '65 Nova. Wonder what I can put on this one? Maybe I'll do my mom's cousin's car, if I can find a color shot of it:

Curtis, I'm thinking that those window masks could be a real time saver. Can I ask, where did you order them?

Those are made by "Zero Designs" part of the "family of companies" that Steve Hemming owns along with Zero Paints and Hiroboy in the U.K.. There might be other sources for them if he's selling them through other vendors, but Hiroboy is the most direct way.

They probably bought it, stole the parts and returned it to the store. Some jerk!

Oh yea! Love the pink on it.  I’d keep the color and the tire / wheel combo but detail it all out with engine, interior and chassis upgrades!
