  1. So... Chevy dealer diorama circa October 1965? "The '66s are here - and we still have '65s at deep discounts!"
  2. Merry Christmas to every one of you from every one of me!
  3. And two for us fans of the very old stuff (note the usual price difference between hardtop and convertible):
  4. Just hope he was a very good builder. "Yep - Me and my kid are gonna build it! Now we'll go down to the dime store for some paint and glue!" (seller flatlines)
  5. Maybe - either way, I'd need to fix the hubcaps (way too flat, they look like they're from an '80s S-10) and the grille (needs that horizontal "lip" on the top bar). Not a big fan of The Hunter, seeing one of my favorite actors - as he was dying - in a script that wasn't worth his talents. Good stunts, though.
  6. Another raffle prize at the LMMCC meeting - AMT '51 Chevy convertible. It's from the old Customizing series and molded in very very blue. Maybe I should build it as this one:
  7. Check out the underside photos; if you've sunk a pile of money into got a Jo-Han Maverick or Comet these will help you detail the chassis: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1974-ford-maverick-3/
  8. Among many other things, you have the body of an ITC '40 Mercury convertible. If you want to build it up, I may have some spare bits, plus I've cast the hubcaps from it.
  9. Can't you let it drop - it's almost Christmas! (Now, which of these two items is more flammable?)
  10. Yep - I got a bunch of 'em displayed with with similar-sized Dinky/Corgi/Motorific etc. vehicles: (Crowded lot there - must be Free French Fries Night at the diner.)
  11. Excellent job, Glen! Your body/chassis combo is a real "why-didn't-I-think-of-that?" idea.
  12. '61. We had one that color with a /6 as well. This is five-year-old me with it, describing the grill opening: And little brother:
  13. And the folks at Barrett-Jackson are turning Highland Green with envy now...
  14. Because the '64 Cutlass needs too much work.
  15. As sanitary as they come, with a lot of sharp details - it's an inspiration for me to do better. Thanks for the threads!
  16. Beautiful work, Greg! Thanks for sharing it with us. Just needs one more detail: Save, reduce and print. The rear plate has the registration sticker.
  17. Food for thought, while you're at it - I found a couple side views of a real one and a model and lined them up: Definitely need to move that door jamb back a bit (1/8" at least). Jo-Han really had some problems with these - the earlier ones are even worse (the '59 Lark promo has about a 4" top chop along with the short doors).
  18. Oh - Sorry, Bill, I didn't mean Ray's master, I meant the Jo-Han/X-El original . Like how the '59-'60 Fleetwoods are shorter than 1/25.
  19. Bill, does that '58 seem to have the same shortened proportion issues the '59-'60 Fleetwoods have?
