Just got through reading the intro post and WOW!! What a turn of events. Sounds like things are on the upswing for you Michael and that's GREAT!!! This build looks like it's coming along very well so far bud. Looking forward to more. -
You've definitely achieved a great effect with that top with the method you used. I'd be very happy with that outcome Steven.

Thanks Mike!! Glad to have you on board brother. Yeah we're slowly climbing out of the hole and I appreciate the good word bud. Thank you for being onboard as well. 'Preciate that Carl. ? Thank you for your comments Mike. Dude.....keep hanging around here long enough and you'll be doing things you never dreamed of. I came here in 2013 and was building aircraft models (which I'm getting ready to start another one up pretty quick) and my auto modeling needed alot of work at that point. There's alot of talent and helpful folks around here that are more than willing to give a hand. Glad to have you in here man. -
Oh my gosh man. Mike I offer my condolences as well. I'll most assuredly be tuned in and watching when the time is right for you to start work on this.

Progress is still ongoing. Finished the center console and shifter finally. This shifter is meant to replicate the Hurst shifter that was in my Car #2 and #3. It was a great short throw shifter. I replicated it using a push pin and started by smoothing out the mold lines in the white plastic ball and then etching out the shift pattern with my X-Acto knife and then going over the etching with a dark wash to bring out the gear pattern. Don't worry about those nasty ejector pin marks in the front corners of the flooring. They'll be covered up by the AM floor mats I'll be using. -

This is crazy cool right here. Great attention to detail and the overall look is just "all that". Will be watching this one.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang!!! I'm really glad I looked at this thread. Not only is this an amazing build so far but I was looking at hinging my trunk lid on my latest build and had forgotten how to do it so this was a good refresher. The work on that grille is off the charts! -
Love the stance and the aggressive look. Everything about this car just...................clicks!!
-
Blown..........................away.............

Man do I ever hear ya Bill. I ran into something like this with my German Arado 234 Blitz Bomber a few years back. I had it at a certain stage for 3 frickin' years trying to get past the seam obstacle that I had with it. Hang with 'er bud......given the good work you've done so far I have no doubt that you'll pull through this very well.
-
This looks like it's going to be one heckuva build. Have you sourced the wheels and tires yet?
-
This is going to be a great build but I still can't get over that shop of yours. Very nicely done Pat.
-
I like your take on this car with the wheels and tires. I think I still have this kit in the stash. Sure would like to build it after looking at this.
-
Not my favorite car but you sure did a great job of building this. Paint looks AWESOME!!!

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers and for following along Carl. Thanks Dave!! Always glad to have you on board bud. 'Preciate it Bob!! Yeah that was a pretty trying feat to get all those dang rivets in there. lol Francis!!!! Thank you for your words of encouragement pal. Glad you dropped in and looking forward to more work on that awesome Dodge truck that you're working on. -
Absolutely LOVE these cars. I cut my teeth on these cars in my early years in GM dealerships as a service technician. Great motor and had lots of power for its day but the Achilles heel of it were the leaky intake gaskets, water pump failures and oil pump drive o ring leaks. Great progress on this so far and really like the engine detail.
-
Man I hate it when that happens. Looking forward to the next project Steve.
