  1. Nice work and excellent paint & details. I am lucky to get a couple of snap togethers done in year, kinda jealous!
  2. Those are nice, love the color! I always liked the 70/71 Torinos, not sure why but the bodystyle just caught my eye, you have done a great job on these. Best of luck with the new job, hopefully you will be able to squeeze in some modeling !
  3. Nice variety and loved them all! I am really envious of the black paint jobs, those look outstanding and show some real talent!
  4. Nice variety of cars, all well detailed and clean paint jobs!
  5. Coming along nicely Dan, can't wait to see it finished!
  6. This is looking good so far, interested to see it finished. Not a huge fan of the outrageous slammed trucks, but this is a subject that caught my eye and I will follow. As long as it looks streetable , I can be interested!
  7. Not aware of any shows in eastern NC, but if you are up for a drive, the SCMA has a show in Spartanburg SC next month that is a pretty good one. Large swap meet and good turnout for builders, well worth the trip. In May they have a show further down the road in Simpsonville SC that is equally big and well attended. The CKM show in August is a really good one, and the swap meet in Salisbury in February has some great deals.
  8. Don't see anything on that list that I don't already have, so I got to hope that they continue working on bringing some other old tools to life. Would really like to see some new pick up kits one of these days, the Revell snapper Raptor trucks are about the closest we have to a modern tool. Maybe Meng will update the F350 tool to newer body specs?
  9. Nice job, sure wish they would play that movie on TV, haven't seen it in years! A lot of nice cars in the movie, a lot of them could probably be built as models.
  10. With all of the specialty parts you are trying to source, it is going to take time and money to get them all. Your best bet would be to make sure you have stuff to trade and be willing to work with others in your trades. Check the show section here on the forum and see if there are any shows coming up in your area as they can be great sources for kits, parts and resin pieces.
  11. I wonder if this one will find it's way to Hobby Lobby any time soon? I realize they will price it at $29.95 knowing most will use the 40% coupon to buy it, it sure would be nice to see this on their shelves.
  12. I will have to look for one of those, I can envision lopping one of the axles off and making a HD flatbed roll back truck.
  13. Looking good Dan, almost looks like a factory job! Is that the height you are going with or will it sit a bit higher? Those side rails and cab guard look great, you going to build bumpers for it too?
  14. Perception is the only reality. Your expectations and mine are most likely different based on personal tastes. While I might not notice a little wind noise but can feel the transmission shifting hard, you find the transmission acceptable but notice the engine makes a peculiar noise at 45 mph!
  15. Initial quality pertains to the first year of ownership, not how the vehicle holds up after the warranty period. As for the ignition switch issue, that is your typical corporate response to a problem. Imagine if the GM folks had been in charge at VW during the diesel cheating scandal? I have finally found the current Silverado design acceptable and now they go and change it? Hmm, I will have to study this new design and get back to you.
  16. Very nice, love the miles deep paint and excellent detailing, much to be proud of!
  17. Don't sell yourself short Bill, there's still 2 weeks left!
  18. I am sure I have seen/talked to him at shows over the years but didn't catch his name. Prayers and thoughts to you and your family in this difficult time and hope for a speedy recovery.
  19. Funny how things work out- you deciding to not work overtime might have saved your Mom's life! Take care of her and make sure she gets that new laundry room, I would hate for you to have to re-live that experience again. Best wishes for a speedy, full recovery and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
  20. Being in sales for the last 22 years has taught me a lot about customer service and how successful one can be just doing the basics. I learned that if you tell a customer you will call/visit/deliver on a certain day or date, then do it! If there is a reason why you can't, let them know AS SOON AS YOU KNOW, because anything less is being deceitful. I follow up each visit with my customers with a detailed call report outlining the items that I need to address as well as the ones they need to address. This makes it much easier to remember what work is ahead for me and them, and if for some reason they "forget", I can politely remind them by bringing out the call report. We bought a car back in September and it reminded me why I don't go through that exercise but every 6-8 years or so. The salesman was a nice enough guy (relatively new and eager)but had to remind him several times of items that were promised but not delivered at the time we bought the car. I was nice but firm that if could promise me certain things to sell me the car, then he better remember to do as he said. He did come through in the end and has called several times asking how we are liking our car and I remind him that customer service will set him apart from the others. My personal experience with realtors runs the gamut from the worst to the best. Again, the better ones are more friendly, communicate with their clients and truly listen to their needs and wants opposed to showing them what ever.
  21. I will be following this one as well. I would suggest to keep looking for a better set of tires and not use the poor example of a tire that came with the kit. Go through the Scenes Unlimited website and also check out Fireball Modelworks- those are my two go to websites for accurate, realistic tires and wheels and both of them offer some of the best product and service. Search eBay, those hubcaps look familiar. Check with Casey here on the forum, he casts some wheels and might be able to direct you.
  22. Last I heard it was to be out in January, we can always hope the ship gets here early from China!
  23. That is one beautiful model, did you create that from the Honcho pickup kit, a resin kit or was it scratchbuilt?
  24. Good luck, I have been saying that for the last 20 years!
